This paper examines how a group member's individual-targeted citizenship behavior (OCBI) and organization-targeted citizenship behavior (OCBO) interact with a salient group-level contextual variable, group cohesiveness, to foster positive change for that group member, starting with job self-efficacy, and organizational commitment followed by job performance. For this, we proposed a theoretical framework contending that OCBI and OCBO increase organizational commitment, and self-efficacy among the employees, and this, would increase their job performance. We also contend that group cohesiveness moderates the effect of both OCB on their outcomes in a way that higher cohesiveness would strengthen the effect of OCBI, and OCBO on self-efficacy and commitment. The target population for this survey was employees of public listed banks in Pakistan, who are working at a different level. A total of 204 self-administered questionnaires were distributed. The questionnaire questions are adopted from an established instrument previously used in another research for measuring each variable. We found that OCBI, and OCBO both seem to have a significant and positive effect on self-efficacy. OCBI also seems to positively affect organizational commitment that in turn increases job performance. OCBI also seems to directly and positively impact job performance, hence establishing partial mediation of organizational commitment. However, the moderation of group cohesiveness remains inconclusive. Managers should try to foster OCB among employees, which can strengthen both team cohesion and the team's confidence in task performance.

These articles describe ideas about contextual performance, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), and similar patterns of behavior that have been developed by scholars working from very different research traditions. It seems that the different research traditions are converging on the same notion--that besides formal job requirements, other patterns of behavior are also critical for organizational effectiveness and survival. These other patterns of behavior have been relatively ignored until recently, but now scholars are trying to define them, determine exactly why and how they are important for organizations, and identify their antecedents. The results of these research efforts-- described by articles in this issue--will help to make it possible to develop new conceptual and practical tools for managing these important behaviors and in that way promote human performance and organizational effectiveness.

Kemindo International. The sampling technique used a random sampling involving 92 employees. Data analysis using path analysis. The direct effect of empowerment on organizational performance is 0,621. While the influence of empowerment on employee performance through organizational citizenship behavior is 0,621 x 0,830 = 0,515. The total effect on this analysis is the direct influence plus the effect of 0,621 + 0,515 = 1,136. In this case, the direct influence is greater than the indirect effect so that it can be said that the variable of citizenship behavior of the organization is not as intervening variable.

This report, the most in-depth of its kind to date, confirms the powerful relationships between HR practices, employee commitment and operating performance. It is based on a three-year investigation which looked at the HR practices, staff views and performance in 11 large organisations including Jaguar Cars, Nationwide Building Society, Selfridges and Tesco. The study provides answers to why and how people management practices influence business performance - to unlock what has been termed the 'black box'. Key conclusions include:- the most carefully thought-through HR strategy is a waste of time unless it is embraced by line managers who have the skills and understanding necessary to engage and motivate employees - where effective HR practices are not in place, levels of employee commitment are up to 90 per cent lower - an organisation needs a clear direction and purpose, beyond the bland mission statement or generic goal of financial returns, which engages, enthuses and unites people. At the Nationwide Building Society this is a commitment to mutuality. At Royal United Hospital Bath it is saving lives. This 'big idea' appears essential in motivating and directing people behind the strategy of the organisation.

The purpose of this research is to test the predictive model of the influence of Counterproductive Work Behavior (CWB) and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) on Employee Performance (EP) with Employee Engagement (EE) as intervening variable. Surveys are conducted by researchers in order to find answers to corruption that undermine the performance of the organization. The population includes all employees working in organization X in 2016. The total number (107) is selected as a sample. For analysts Pearson correlation research results, multiple regression and path equation modeling techniques with software SPSS 19 with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed a significant relationship between OCB, CWB and EE on PE. It is evident that the greater the OCB, the more influential the EE is. The magnitude of the influence of OCB on EE indirectly also affect the large PE also. The opposite occurs when CWB increases, CWB will have a negative impact on PE. The impact of employees who have high Engagement Employee performance souls, influences the high PE. when compared to individuals who do not have an EE. Similarly, high Engagement Employee CWB will have a negative impact on performance will decrease. So EE is able to increase the influence of OCB on PE and EE able to suppress CWB to PE.

Citizenship and Management in Public Administration is an exciting journey into the nexus between two separate but close worlds: citizenship orientations and citizenship behavior as reflected in political science theory on one hand, and organizational sciences, work studies, management, and public administration on the other. The authors have combined theoretical thinking with empirical findings to support their theories, and the data presented has been collected over almost a decade of field studies and surveys of public organizations. Dealing with the nature and meaning of citizenship, this book looks at behavior and involvement in modern public worksites. The interdisciplinary studies are all concerned with achieving better integration of the theories and ideas on citizenship and bureaucracies, which are more frequently treated as independent domains in the social sciences. However, the authors suggest that they are closely related and should be analyzed in relation to one another. This unique book will appeal to academics of management and organizational behavior, public administration and those involved in researching the not-for-profit, or third, sector.
