How to Crush Law School(c) is the book I wish I could have read the summer before my 1L year. Great law students do not necessarily work harder than their colleagues. Instead, they typically have an informational advantage to combine with their excellent work ethic. In other words, they are privy to useful bits of wisdom that give them a slight edge over their competition. Unfortunately, only a fraction of law students learn the secrets to success in law school, and thus most law students are at a tremendous disadvantage. How to does one obtain information other law students don't have? How does one gain an edge? How to Crush Law School solves the enigma; it clears up the ambiguities. In this concise book, the author explicitly reveals the secrets to success in law school and shares his most valuable bits of law school wisdom. This step-by-step guide to crushing law school reveals the following: How to prioritize law school tasks and manage time to achieve optimal efficiency; How to manage your mind and utilize neuroscience to perform at your best; How to leverage focus, willpower, habit, motivation, momentum, and positivity to gain an edge; How to approach the various types of law school exam questions, including issue-spotters, traditional essays, and multiple-choice questions; and How to write a perfect answer on a law school exam. ABOUT THE AUTHOR I don't like to brag about myself in the third person, so my "about the author" may be a bit unusual. Here goes. I graduated from the University of South Carolina, School of Law in 2016, where I served as a research editor for the South Carolina Law Review. While in school, I had the honor of working as a tutor of legal research and writing. I accumulated a lot of law school accolades, including CALI awards in legal writing, advanced legal writing, income tax, and criminal procedure. During law school, I received a joint master's degree from the Vermont Law School in environmental law and police. Thereafter, I clerked for Judge Joseph F. Anderson, Jr. in the United States District Court, and then I clerked for Judge David R. Duncan at the United States Bankruptcy Court. After law school, I went back to business school and received an MBA from the University of South Carolina, where I focused on marketing, new venture analysis, and intellectual property strategy. While completing my MBA, I worked as a research editor for one of my favorite professors in law school. If you read all of that, thank you for your interest. I'm flattered, and I hope you enjoy the book and crush law school.

Getting To Maybe written by Richard Michael Fischl and has been published by Carolina Academic Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999-05-01 with Study Aids categories.

Professors Fischl and Paul explain law school exams in ways no one has before, all with an eye toward improving the reader’s performance. The book begins by describing the difference between educational cultures that praise students for “right answers,” and the law school culture that rewards nuanced analysis of ambiguous situations in which more than one approach may be correct. Enormous care is devoted to explaining precisely how and why legal analysis frequently produces such perplexing situations. But the authors don’t stop with mere description. Instead, Getting to Maybe teaches how to excel on law school exams by showing the reader how legal analysis can be brought to bear on examination problems. The book contains hints on studying and preparation that go well beyond conventional advice. The authors also illustrate how to argue both sides of a legal issue without appearing wishy-washy or indecisive. Above all, the book explains why exam questions may generate feelings of uncertainty or doubt about correct legal outcomes and how the student can turn these feelings to his or her advantage. In sum, although the authors believe that no exam guide can substitute for a firm grasp of substantive material, readers who devote the necessary time to learning the law will find this book an invaluable guide to translating learning into better exam performance. “This book should revolutionize the ordeal of studying for law school exams… Its clear, insightful, fun to read, and right on the money.” — Duncan Kennedy, Carter Professor of General Jurisprudence, Harvard Law School “Finally a study aid that takes legal theory seriously… Students who master these lessons will surely write better exams. More importantly, they will also learn to be better lawyers.” — Steven L. Winter, Brooklyn Law School “If you can't spot a 'fork in the law' or a 'fork in the facts' in an exam hypothetical, get this book. If you don’t know how to play 'Czar of the Universe' on law school exams (or why), get this book. And if you do want to learn how to think like a lawyer—a good one—get this book. It's, quite simply, stone cold brilliant.” — Pierre Schlag, University of Colorado School of Law (Law Preview Book Review on The Princeton Review website) Attend a Getting to Maybe seminar! I'm talking about the essential ingredient that every top law student knows about. I'll give you a hint. It's not found in your casebooks or your professors' lectures. So what's the secret? I'll tell you. The secret is using time-tested outlines to prepare for and master your 1L classes. So now that you know the secret, let's find out why my exclusive 1L outlines will help you ace your law school exams. Best 1L Outlines Hi I'm JD - a BigLaw associate. Like you, when I started law school I felt a tremendous amount of pressure. The pressure to "fit in" during 1L. The pressure to do well on my final exams. And the pressure to land a good job. We all know how important grades are - especially 1L grades - when it comes to succeeding in law school and starting your legal career off on the right foot. But here's the huge problem with law school - your professors hide the ball and only teach you how to "think like a lawyer." They don't teach you how to succeed in law school or ace your exams. And they certainly don't tell you how incredibly difficult it will be to get a good job if you don't finish near the top of your class. You'll have to figure out on your own how to: * Study the law * Outline effectively * Ace your 1L exams Instead of hiding the ball, imagine if someone gave you a roadmap for how to learn the law. I read literally every book I could find about how to prepare for 1L, study the law, outline effectively, and ace my 1L exams. It was only after spending hundreds of hours in the library studying, taking practice exams, and perfecting my 1L outlines, that I learned how to crush law school exams. How did I do, you ask? Well friends, I earned numerous Book Awards, finished 1L at the very top of my class, graduated with Latin Honors, and landed a job in BigLaw. As you can see, I've already done the hard work for you. Now it's your turn to enjoy all the benefits of law school success. So I ask you this simple question, "Wouldn't you pay a few bucks for a tool that will help you ace your 1L exams?" I thought so. One L written by Scott Turow and has been published by Pan Macmillan this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-05-22 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

One L, Scott Turow's journal of his first year at law school was a bestseller when it was first published in 1977, and has gone on to become a virtual bible for prospective law students. Not only does it introduce with remarkable clarity the ideas and issues that are the stuff of legal education; it brings alive the anxiety and competitiveness – with others and, even more, with oneself – that set the tone in this crucible of character building. Turow's multidimensional delving into his protagonists' psyches and his marvellous gift for suspense prefigure the achievements of his bestselling first novel, Presumed Innocent. Each September, a new crop of students enter Harvard Law School to begin an intense, often gruelling, sometimes harrowing year of introduction to the law. Turow's group of One Ls are fresh, bright, ambitious, and more than a little daunting. Even more impressive are the faculty: Perini, the dazzling, combative professor of contracts, who presents himself as the students' antagonist in their struggle to master his subject; Zechman, the reserved professor of torts who seems so indecisive the students fear he cannot teach; and Nicky Morris, a young, appealing man who stressed the humanistic aspects of law. Will the One Ls survive? Will they excel? Will they make the Law Review, the outward and visible sign of success in this ultra-conservative microcosm? With remarkable insight into both his fellows and himself, Turow leads us through the ups and downs, the small triumphs and tragedies of the year, in an absorbing and thought-provoking narrative that teaches the reader not only about law school and the law but about the human beings who make them what they are.
