As Christian educators, we want our students to know the Bible. Our students need a solid foundation of Scripture learning "for doctrine, for reproof, for education, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Tim. 3:16).At the same time, we know that Bible information is not enough. Once when Jesus was talking to serious Bible students, He had these harsh words to say: "These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life" (John 5:39-40).What a tragedy-people who knew all sorts of Bible details, yet had not yielded their lives to Jesus and had not experienced His transforming power! But it happened. And it can happen in our Sunday schools, even with dedicated leaders and teachers. What can we do? How can we make sure that we are reaching our students, and not just covering the lesson material? We must choose Bible lessons that students can understand and apply at their own level of development. We must build application into the whole lesson, and not just tack it on to the end.We must follow a comprehensive plan that takes every student, at every age, through a discipleship process that continues for a lifetime. This book will show you how.

In response to the crisis, Dr. Mears instituted a set of principles that helped grow the Sunday School program at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood from 450 to more than 4,000 in just three years. In Sunday School Changes Everything, you will find her fearless recommendations on how to Build your church’s Christian education program both numerically and spiritually Use practical methods for training your leaders and teaching students of all stages of life Implement five ingredients of successful ministry: Jesus, the Bible, relationships, a comprehensive plan, and life change Employ 10 standards of a good curriculum that will help you answer the question of what to teach

How People Change written by Timothy S. Lane and has been published by New Growth Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-01-28 with Religion categories.

What does it take for lasting change to take root in your life? If you've ever tried, failed, and wondered what you could do differently, you need to read How People Change. In the book, biblical counseling experts Timothy S. Lane and Paul David Tripp explain the biblical pattern for change in a clear, practical way you can apply to the challenges of daily life. But change involves much more than just a biblical formula: you will see how God is at work to make you the person you were created to be. That powerful, loving, redemptive relationship is at the heart of all positive change you experience. A changed heart is the bright promise of the gospel, but many of us wonder if we'll ever see lasting change take root in our lives. When the Bible talks about the gift of a new heart, it doesn't mean a heart that is immediately perfected, but a heart that is capable of being changed. Jesus's work on the cross targets our hearts, our core desires and motivations, and when our hearts change, our behavior changes. How People Change targets the root of a person: the heart. When our core desires and motivations change, only then will behavior follow. Using a biblical model of Heat, Thorns, Cross, and Fruit, Paul David Tripp and Timothy S. Lane reveal how lasting change is possible. You don't need to be stuck anymore. In Christ, you are a new creation. The old has gone and the new has come. Includes a foreword by David Powlison.
