Hiding under the mountains with continuous attacks from the skies, Kaishi marshals humanity’s remnants in a final stand against overwhelming odds. Hope resides in a last ditch effort to call out beyond the stars for help, as Kaishi climbs the cliffs to fight one final time beside her friends. Sax is in similar straits, uniting with other rebels in a strike at the very core of the galaxy, to a planet few are allowed to see, much less set foot upon. There they must try to find a weakness, a way to expose and end a millennium-spanning plot to control the galaxy’s sentient species. The Power Of Diversity written by Myrtha Casanova and has been published by Common Ground Research Networks this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-06-15 with Business & Economics categories.

Diversity is the nature of humanity, of men and women whose profiles are highly different. The same applies to the structure, behavior and results of how they interrelate, the institutions they create, and the governance tools they use. This evidence is an axiom of everything that concerns humanity. Globalization has brought together people and their differences to act in a unique, dynamically diverse space in constant transformation. Including these diversities is key to the sustained development of organizations, regions and nations. In the nineteen fifties and sixties of the ninetieth century, the scientific community established that Diversity would be the distinguishing factor of the twenty-first century, with Albermathy and Utterback in the forefront, among other researchers. The science of Diversity emerged. And so, the development of intelligence would be critical to understand and manage the behavior of men and women as they move forward in search of a sustainable future. In the eighties, the scientific community —Johnston and Packer (1987), among others— not only further researched the concept of Diversity but also established that it is responsible for the generation of conflicts at global, local and group levels in this century. Later, in the nineties, further analyzing the consequences, researchers such as Cox and Blake identified Diversity as the main generator of innovation. Diversity, therefore, is the key factor for organizations to develop inclusive policies that enhance the value of difference with the aim of turning it into an advantage and not as a menace to people and the institutions they govern.

When nine-year-old C.J. Walker touches the arm of his mother's dead friend at her wake service and whispers the wish that she wouldn't be dead, he's just trying to do the right thing. But when the undertaker sees the woman's rosary sliding off her outstretched fingers and tumbling down her raised left arm, the firestorm can't be held in check. Frightened people near and far demand to know how many of their own loved ones might have been buried alive by the same undertaker, or by any undertaker. But proof that C.J. Walker can indeed raise the dead is secretly videoed, then publicly aired. In a single morning, C.J.'s mother, Lynn, watches their home becoming a fortress and her son becoming a target. Grieving individuals desperate to see death let go of their loved ones; representatives from news, medical, and scientific organizations; influential religious representatives; and powerful government agencies all move in to gain maximum positions of influence over the greatest power on earth. Through the ordeal, Lynn and her separated husband, Joe, struggle to find a way to escape with C.J., to keep him hidden from every pursuer, and somehow to make it possible for him to live a normal life again. But to do it all they must act quickly, before he's stolen away by authorities in high places.

Rising Inequality In The United States written by Robert J. Bunker and has been published by Xlibris Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-26 with Political Science categories.

Rising levels of inequality, both internationally and domestically, represent a societal as well as, increasingly, a national security concern. A strong and robust middle class has long been considered an integral part of American society, required for both the functioning of its industrialized economy and armor and mechanized-infantry based armies as well as the stability of its liberal-democratic governmental system. This reality now seems imperiled with the U.S. middle class appearing to be shrinking before our eyes. This new Small Wars Journal pocket book by Pamela Ligouri Bunker and Robert J. Bunker discusses such rising inequality concerns, provides an overview related to globalized capitalism’s domestic winners and losers, analyses criminal, plutocratic, and emergent authoritarian insurgency forms as well as the Fourth Epoch War theory construct, and then provides policy response recommendations for the U.S. government and armed forces. It is representative of the cutting edge Criminal and Plutocratic Insurgencies research and writing being produced by SWJ.

Egalitarian Sublime written by James Williams and has been published by Edinburgh University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-04 with Philosophy categories.

We call sublime those things and experiences supposed to be the very best. But what if the best actually leads to inequality and exploitation? Williams critiques the sublime over its long history and in recent returns to sublime nature and technologies. Deploying a new critical method that draws on process philosophy, he shows how the sublime has always led to inequality. This holds true even where it underpins ideas of cosmopolitan enlightenment, and even when refined by Burke, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and Zizek. Against the unjust legacies of the traditional sublime, James Williams defends a new, anarchist sublime: multiple, self-destructive and temporary; opposed to any idea of highest value to be shared by all but always imposed on the powerless.

A Quest For Humanity written by Menno Boldt and has been published by University of Toronto Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-01-01 with Philosophy categories.

In A Quest for Humanity, Menno Boldt presents a persuasive new framework for achieving a human social order in the global age. Boldt explores the concept of 'the good society' as a world in which every person can realize their potential for humanity through liberty, social justice, and equal human dignity. A Quest for Humanity innovatively positions globalization as a deterministic phenomenon of expanding interdependence and shared knowledge — resulting in ever-larger economic and political jurisdictions, but also creating social and psychological links between peoples across the world. Boldt challenges mainstream certainty that Western democracy and constitutional human rights are the exemplary doctrines for the global good society. With a fresh vision designed to inspire a universal acknowledgement of human dignity, A Quest for Humanity powerfully affirms the value of each human being.

Three Creation Stories written by Michael Gold and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-11-08 with Religion categories.

What is reality? Is reality both mind and matter, body and soul, as taught by Western religions such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam? This is dualism, the approach of philosophers from Plato to Descartes. Or is reality only matter, as taught by many modern scientists and philosophers? This is materialism, the approach of philosophers from Hobbes to Marx. Or is reality only mind, as taught by Eastern religions and Western mystics. This is the approach of philosophers from Berkeley to Whitehead. The beginning of Genesis allows for multiple translations and interpretations. We will read the creation story in Genesis from the point of view of each of these three approaches—dualism, materialism, and idealism. In doing so, we will tell three very different creation stories. These stories will take us on a fascinating journey through science, philosophy, and religion. Join us on this journey as we explore issues such as does God perform miracles, why is there evil in the universe, was Darwin correct, can robots have souls, and if light is a wave, what is waving?
