All women are virtuous women, and women must know we are important in the Kingdom of God, fighting a spiritual battle that cannot be ignored. Such battles are to be won-and can be won-while we depend on God for protection and providence. The strength and wisdom of a woman in her divine assignment do not come from herself but from God. We have afflictions, suffering, and trials, but God has given us the victory. Then stand up and roar, woman, like the lioness you are!

I Am Woman is a book about the many struggles women encounter that are not always spoken about (i.e., betrayal, abortion, illness, humiliation, abuse, failure, and success). Although a work of fiction, I Am Woman is based on a culmination of life events that touches on a number of issues whether personal or perceived. It is peppered with a little humor while it depicts various incidences that occurred in a multiethnic neighborhood in days gone by. Anna is a young Catholic woman growing up in an Italian American household in the '50s and '60s. From child to businesswoman, she is confronted with a decision that would forever affect her life. Would love or conscience prevail? I Am Woman will touch all women in one way or another, I am certain.

What does it mean to be a woman? The current cultural ideal for womanhood encourages women to be strident, sexual, self-centered, independent -- and above all -- powerful and in control. But sadly, this model of womanhood hasn't delivered the happiness and fulfillment it promised. The Bible teaches that it's not up to us to decide what womanhood is all about. God created male and female for a very specific purpose. His design isn't arbitrary or unimportant. It is very intentional and He wants women to discover, embrace, and delight in the beauty of His design. He's looking for True Women! Bible teachers Mary A. Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss share the key fundamentals of biblical womanhood in this eight week study. Each week includes five daily individual lessons leading to a group time of sharing and digging deeper into God's Word. And to enhance this time of learning together, on-line videos are available featuring Mary and Nancy as they encourage women to discover and embrace God's design and mission for their lives. A True Woman Book The goal of the True Woman publishing line is to encourage women to: Discover, embrace, and delight in God's divine design and mission for their lives Reflect the beauty and heart of Jesus Christ to their world Intentionally pass the baton of Truth on to the next generation Pray earnestly for an outpouring of God's Spirit in their families, churches, nation and world

Our story has its quiet beginning at a convention in Seneca Falls, New York, in 1848. Susan B. Anthony attended, and it was here her legacy began. This convention launched the suffrage movement. This novel is based on actual events in history, although it is written as creative fiction. There are two parts to this Victorian Romance, Women's Rights, and State's Rights. It gets underway after the convention in the summer of 1860 with four young women, known throughout the reading as the four musketeers, who are all single and graduate from the Hampton Women's College in Virginia. It follows their courtship with handsome men from all walks of life, Colonel Richard 'Dick' Jackson, Reverend Russell James Keiner, Brett Meyer, and an Italian opera star, Carlos Orsi. The lead character in the novel is Dianne Jenkins, who is portrayed as man-hater… but is she really! The rights usually enjoyed by women were often taken away when she married. As a matter of fact, a woman gave up so many civil and property rights upon walking across that threshold that she was said to be entering a state of "civil death." One such woman who would not stand for this inequality was Dianne Jenkins. She loves Reverend Russell Keiner with all her heart but hates him with all her mind. Her moving speech as Magna Cum Laude at Hampton's College describes her feeling toward inequality while not pulling any punches. Married women were not allowed to make contracts, devise their last will and testament, or take part in other legal transactions. Women, once married, were not in control of the wages they earned. In our story, Dianne Jenkins is an outspoken woman. She disliked the fact that women were expected once they married to do the maintenance of the family from sewing a pair of socks to doing the laundry to cooking the meals and, of course, bearing as many children as she could until it killed her. Because the laws were written by men, a married woman was supposed to remain home and take care of the cooking, cleaning, and getting pregnant every time she hung her husband's pants on the clothes' line. As the first of this two-volume novel unfolds, we find our four women standing beside their fathers while our country splits, and they fight for the glory of the 'Star-Spangled Banner' in State's Rights. Or, do they take up arms with the Confederacy? At the same time, one of our women fights not to be controlled by a man she so dearly loves. The problem is that she loves him and desires him with her heart, but something from her past keeps her mind from letting him into her heart! Some quotes from women during this story: "The best protection any woman can have is courage." – Elizabeth Cady Stanton "I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires." – Susan B. Anthony "There shall never be another season of silence until women have the same rights men have on this green earth." – Susan B. Anthony "I never doubted that equal rights were the right direction. Most reforms, most problems are complicated. But to me, there's nothing complicated about ordinary equality." – Alice Paul

The Starlight Barking, Dodie's own long-forgotten sequel, presents a thrilling adventure for Pongo and his family, lavishly illustrated by the same artist team as the first book. As the story opens, every living creature except dogs is gripped by an enchanted sleep. One of the original Dalmatian puppies, all grown up since the first novel, is now the Prime Minister's mascot. Relying on her spotted parents for guidance, she assumes emergency leadership for the canine population of England. Awaiting advice from Sirius, the Dog Star, dogs of every breed crowd Trafalgar Square to watch the evening skies. The message they receive is a disturbing proposition, one that might forever destroy their status as "man's best friend."

Do you know what it is like to look at the person you love and see hatred reflected back to you? Do you know what it is like to move mountains for a person that wants to destroy you? Do you know what it is like to be afraid? I do and so do many women out in the world - young or old, white or black, rich or poor. The world can be a scary place especially when the person you love doubles as your judge, juror, and at times - your executioner. Do you know what it is like to close your eyes in fear as someone takes control of your body? Do you know what it is like to lose your will? Do you know what it is like to fall into a deep dark abyss? For those of you out there that have experienced what I described, I write this for you. For us. So that you know you are not alone. This is our story. The breaking. The healing. -Blue Marie Balcita Mesa, AZ 6-14-2020

Full-tilt, hardcore, down-home, and groundbreaking, the women of country music speak volumes with every song. From Maybelle Carter to Dolly Parton, k.d. lang to Taylor Swift—these artists provided pivot points, truths, and doses of courage for women writers at every stage of their lives. Whether it’s Rosanne Cash eulogizing June Carter Cash or a seventeen-year-old Taylor Swift considering the golden glimmer of another precocious superstar, Brenda Lee, it’s the humanity beneath the music that resonates. Here are deeply personal essays from award-winning writers on femme fatales, feminists, groundbreakers, and truth tellers. Acclaimed historian Holly George Warren captures the spark of the rockabilly sensation Wanda Jackson; Entertainment Weekly’s Madison Vain considers Loretta Lynn’s girl-power anthem “The Pill”; and rocker Grace Potter embraces Linda Ronstadt’s unabashed visual and musical influence. Patty Griffin acts like a balm on a post-9/11 survivor on the run; Emmylou Harris offers a gateway through paralyzing grief; and Lucinda Williams proves that greatness is where you find it. Part history, part confessional, and part celebration of country, Americana, and bluegrass and the women who make them, Woman Walk the Line is a very personal collection of essays from some of America’s most intriguing women writers. It speaks to the ways in which artists mark our lives at different ages and in various states of grace and imperfection—and ultimately how music transforms not just the person making it, but also the listener.
