They all speak about my desire for all peoples to come together in peace, my struggle for acceptance from society and my wanting to have a voice. All these poems are nothing more than me reaching out and speaking to a world that often either can't or doesn't want to listen. I am what I am, with warts included. I do my best as I am, for what it's worth. I don't so much use all these poems as a soapbox on which to voice my viewpoint as much as I use all these poems in order to speak about my own truth, once and for all. They're all a way of making myself and all that there is about me real. I only hope that I become more valid. I am destiny's child, as are we all. I am but one among many. This makes my wanting to have a voice even more important. I hope that something good is taken away from my words. To paraphrase my words: I want to give you all something to think about. I hope to make you all see. I want to have a lasting legacy. Perhaps in some ways I will. Remember that even blind men (and women) have found ways to see, and that tolerating is better than turning one's back. Period. Love and peace to all.
