This story is fictional. It is about a sixteen year old boy Nicholas and his long time fifteen year old girlfriend Jennifer. It is about their awakening to their sexual feelings. It is about a mythical deer, the Lord Prince of the Forest. This deer has appeared in the forest of Nicks Grandparents for more than fifty years. Hunters throughout the years have at close range shot at it but no one can hit it. Nick is living with his grandparents until his parents divorce is finalized and the battle for him is settled in court. On Nicks sixteenth birthday both his parents come in separate cars to the grandparents for his birthday celebration. He receives a 35 cal. Marlin for his first hunt. Alone in the woods on his first hunt, he dozes off. He meets face to face with the Lord Prince of the Forest. Nick does not take the shot as everyone use had done. The Lord Prince of the Forest looks at Nick motionless eye to eye and by telepathy says We be Family you and I. Nick not knowing how or why, answers the same way, And let it be that all creators that walk, run, swim, crawl or fly, be your family as you and I. This starts a series of encounters and with angry attacking animals, and because of the Lord Prince of the Forrest, Nick is able to bring these animals under his control

This book is the true story of a boy who grows up with a great and wonderful man, the love of Christ, and the harsh journey he takes to understanding grace. The desire to follow in his grandfather's footsteps is so overpowering that nothing else matters. The older the boy becomes, the harder to enjoy life outside of his grandfather's presence becomes. The turmoil of his parents and schoolmates causes great distress and pain throughout the rest of his life. The desire to be a friend to everyone and receive the love of others is tragically destroyed by the harshness of children and adults that don't know the love of Christ or care for other's emotions. The daily grind of mean children as well as schoolteachers causes this child to question who he is and if anyone can love him other than his grandfather. A true desire to understand God and understand those around him becomes too heavy, and the emotional distress that this causes nearly puts an end to this young life. Only the love of Jesus and his grandfather keeps him on the correct path of life. Fighting through the harder years of teenage life, trying to prove his worth to his father, dealing with a religious mother and the hatred of others--this story is how a young man becomes an exceptional athlete as well as a cocky womanizer. He hardens himself to those that have hurt him through the years, including his own family. The desire for his father to accept him becomes a lost cause, and he separates himself from his religious mother to go his own way. He never loses his love for his grandfather and the faith he has in God. There are harsh and emotional situations in this book. It may be hard to understand how people can be so cruel to those who want nothing more than to love and be a part of their life. This book will show you that even though you may not realize it, the Lord is with you even in times of distress. We all look for the answers in life and why we go through the things we do. This shows us that no matter what you go through there is one who is always with you and will help you get through anything. I truly believe you will enjoy this book and believe and pray the message is loud and clear. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

In this exciting historical mystery debut set in Victorian England, a wealthy young widow encounters the pleasures—and scandalous pitfalls—of a London social season . . . Frances Wynn, the American-born Countess of Harleigh, enjoys more freedom as a widow than she did as a wife. With her young daughter in tow, Frances rents a home in Belgravia and prepares to welcome her sister, Lily, arriving from New York—for her first London season. But no sooner has Frances begun her new life than the Metropolitan police receive an anonymous letter implicating Frances in her husband’s death. Frances assures Inspector Delaney of her innocence, but she’s also keen to keep him from learning the scandalous circumstances of Reggie’s demise. As fate would have it, her dashing new neighbor, George Hazelton, is one of only two other people aware of the full story. While busy with social engagements on Lily’s behalf, and worrying if Reggie really was murdered, Frances rallies her wits, a circle of gossips, and the ever-chivalrous Mr. Hazelton to uncover the truth. A killer is in their midst and Frances must unmask the villain before Lily’s season—and their lives—come to a most unseemly end . . . “This lighthearted debut tale of mystery, love, and a delightful sleuth will leave you wanting more—which is presumably just what Freeman had in mind.” —Kirkus Reviews

Rural life and culture hold a practical and symbolic importance in American society. A central tenet of the survival of our cherished values—and of ourselves as a species—is the stewardship of cultural diversity and the places that foster it, like rural America. These may be the places that teach us to use land to make a living and to make a life, to forge and carry on our identities, and to feel history. They may yield a harvest of policies for managing an environmental balancing act that will preserve essential resources for America's children's children. Power and Place: Preservation, Progress, and the Culture War over Land examines the ongoing culture wars that pit conservation against economic progress. For author Melinda Bollar Wagner, what began as a study of Appalachia's long-standing and continuing status as an energy sacrifice zone evolved into a twenty-four-year research project that sheds new light on the physical and emotional parameters of cultural attachment to land. Drawing on interviews with more than 220 residents from ten communities in five Appalachian counties, Power and Place gives voice to rural citizens whose place at the table is far from assured with regard to critical energy, environmental, and infrastructure decisions.
