Today, computation is an essential component of every technology. However, there has not been much research on quantum computing, even though it has the capability to solve complex problems in an efficient way. Further study is required to fully understand the uses and benefits of this technology. The Handbook of Research on Quantum Computing for Smart Environments presents investigating physical realizations of quantum computers, encoders, and decoders, including photonic quantum realization, cavity quantum electrodynamics, and many more topics on Bits to Qubits. Covering key topics such as machine learning, software, quantum algorithms, and neural networks, this major reference work is ideal for engineers, computer scientists, physicists, mathematicians, researchers, academicians, scholars, practitioners, instructors, and students.

Creating Built Environments written by Roderick Lawrence and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-06-14 with Architecture categories.
Built environments are complex, emergent, systemic, and require contextual analysis. They should be understood before reconsidering how professionals and researchers of the built environment are educated and trained to reduce the gap between knowledge, practice and real-world circumstances. There is an urgent need to rethink the role of policy makers, researchers, practitioners and laypeople in the construction, renovation and reuse of the built environment in order to deal with numerous environmental/ecological, economic/financial and social/ethical challenges of providing a habitat for current and future generations in a world of continual change. These challenges are too complex to be dealt with only by one discipline or profession. Combinations of different types of knowledge, knowing in praxis and tacit knowledge are needed. This book presents and illustrates recent innovative contributions with case studies focusing on five strategic domains and the interrelations between them. These transdisciplinary contributions apply concepts, methods and tools that facilitate convergence and concerted action between participants collaborating in policy definition and project implementation. The methods and tools include experiments in living-labs, prototypes on site and virtual simulations, as well as participatory approaches including citizen science, the development of alternative scenarios, and visioning plausible futures.

The Smart Estate Bring your estate management methods into the future with this accessible guide Building information modeling, or BIM, is a catch-all term for a wide array of tools and processes for creating digital representations of buildings or building components. These tools have been widely embraced for use in the construction phase of projects, but their potential has only begun to be realized in facility management and maintenance, even though these account for 85% of costs in the life cycle of a building. Organizations controlling diverse estates with multiple buildings of varying ages stand to benefit enormously from a BIM-informed approach to estate management. The Smart Estate outlines such an approach and its potential to improve facility and estate management. Emphasizing practical applications, it moves beyond the project delivery stage to focus on the much longer — and costlier — period of building operation and maintenance. The result is a thorough and accessible guide to generating collaborative, BIM-informed methods. The Smart Estate readers will also find: Case studies and real-world scenarios illustrating best practices Detailed discussion particularly suited to the needs of large-scale or public-sector organizations Detailed step-by-step guide to developing a BIM-informed approach to a given asset portfolio The Smart Estate is ideal for professionals in construction management and facilities management, as well as for advanced students and professionals in all construction related disciplines.

Weather Religion And Climate Change written by Sigurd Bergmann and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-12-13 with Nature categories.
Weather, Religion and Climate Change is the first in-depth exploration of the fascinating way in which the weather impacts on the fields of religion, art, culture, history, science, and architecture. In critical dialogue with meteorology and climate science, this book takes the reader beyond the limits of contemporary thinking about the Anthropocene and explores whether a deeper awareness of weather might impact on the relationship between nature and self. Drawing on a wide range of examples, including paintings by J.M.W. Turner, medieval sacred architecture, and Aristotle’s classical Meteorologica, Bergmann examines a geographically and historically wide range of cultural practices, religious practices, and worldviews in which weather appears as a central, sacred force of life. He also examines the history of scientific meteorology and its ambivalent commodification today, as well as medieval "weather witchery" and biblical perceptions of weather as a kind of "barometer" of God’s love. Overall, this volume explores the notion that a new awareness of weather and its atmospheres can serve as a deep cultural and spiritual driving force that can overcome the limits of the Anthropocene and open a new path to the "Ecocene", the age of nature. Drawing on methodologies from religious studies, cultural studies, art history and architecture, philosophy, environmental ethics and aesthetics, history, and theology, this book will be of great interest to all those concerned with studying the environment from a transdisciplinary perspective on weather and wisdom.
