We live in a fallen world where offenses and serious grievances occur in every person’s life. These painful situations, no matter how slight or serious, demand that we face the question, “Does God expect me to forgive?” The answer is clear. The choice is ours to obey. The power comes from God alone. I Choose to Forgive tells the heartbreaking journey from devastation to freedom from the unique perspective of a mother, father, and sibling on the ultimate offense of murder. In addition, the powerful testimony of the murderer’s journey of finding forgiveness is shared in his own words. These personal stories are rooted in a strong biblical foundation, which undergirds the practical steps of choosing forgiveness.

This work explores issues of forgiveness and reconciliation in countries that had experienced political conflicts, civil war, and even genocide. It attempts to move beyond mere discussion by examining case studies and the initiatives taken in dialogue and reconciliation. In many cases, religion can be a force for peace and play a significant role in resolving conflicts. This work also examines the relationship between justice and forgiveness, emphasizing that there will be no peace without justice and no justice without forgiveness. Human justice is fragile. Thus, respect for rights and responsibilities must include forgiveness in order to heal and restore relationships.

Anthony Trollope's 'Kept in the Dark' is a profound exploration of the complexities of marital relationships, societal expectations, and the consequences of secrecy. Woven with Trollope's characteristic narrative finesse and acute social observation, the novel scrutinizes the moral landscapes of 19th century England through the life of Cecilia Holt, showcasing Trollope's adept hand at depicting psychological realism. The literary context of the novel is entrenched in the Victorian preoccupation with duty and honor, while its style is marked by the detailed character study and moral rigor common in Trollope's extensive body of work. Trollope, much esteemed for his keen perception of the social milieu of his time and for his prolificacy, has rendered in 'Kept in the Dark' a tale that underscores his own preoccupations with the social mores governing the institution of marriage. His extensive work as a civil servant and tireless traveler provided him with a wide canvas of human behavior and social customs, which he depicted faithfully through his novels, contributing to his reputation as one of the preeminent chroniclers of Victorian society. For aficionados of classic English literature and readers with a penchant for nuanced character-driven narratives, 'Kept in the Dark' offers an introspective journey into the delicate fabric of love, truth, and consequence. Recommended for its timeless exploration of the human condition and the web of social decorum that dictates personal choice and happiness, Trollope's novel remains a salient reflection on the eternal question of how much we owe to truth in our most intimate relationships.

Teaching Contested Narratives written by Zvi Bekerman and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-12-01 with Psychology categories.
In troubled societies narratives about the past tend to be partial and explain a conflict from narrow perspectives that justify the national self and condemn, exclude and devalue the 'enemy' and their narrative. Through a detailed analysis, Teaching Contested Narratives reveals the works of identity, historical narratives and memory as these are enacted in classroom dialogues, canonical texts and school ceremonies. Presenting ethnographic data from local contexts in Cyprus and Israel, and demonstrating the relevance to educational settings in countries which suffer from conflicts all over the world, the authors explore the challenges of teaching narratives about the past in such societies, discuss how historical trauma and suffering are dealt with in the context of teaching, and highlight the potential of pedagogical interventions for reconciliation. The book shows how the notions of identity, memory and reconciliation can perpetuate or challenge attachments to essentialized ideas about peace and conflict.
