Ich, Christine Dörr, schreibe schon seit einigen Jahren Gedichte. Es macht mir Freude, Gefühle und Empfindungen in Worten darzustellen. Geschichten schreibe ich erst seit Kurzem. Mit meinen JESUS-STORYS, wie ich sie schon von Anfang an nannte, möchte ich auf Jesus Christus hinweisen. Für meine Mitmenschen bin ich gerne ein Wegweiser. Der Glaube bedeutet für mich: Gott zu vertrauen und sich Gott anzuvertrauen. Gott ist an einer innigen und liebevollen Beziehung mit seinem Menschen interessiert. Gott drängt sich niemandem auf und überlässt seinem Menschen die Entscheidung, den ersten Schritt zu machen. Zu diesem Schritt auf Gott zu möchte ich mit meinen Geschichten Mut machen. Ich fotografiere auch gerne. Meine Worte und meine Fotos sollen sich ergänzen und eine Einheit bilden.

This study considers the “I am” sayings in the Gospel of John, interpreted in the context of their reception in late antiquity. It takes an intertextual approach, considering both inner-biblical parallels and extra-biblical texts, which have been much neglected in recent Johannine scholarship. A comparative analysis of the “I am” formula is complemented by the consideration of the metaphors of the predicative “I am” words, focussing particularly on the use of "bread", "light" and "vine" and the context of these metaphors in the Gospel of John and elsewhere. This discussion demonstrates that Johannine Christology is profoundly incarnational. *** Gegenstand der vorliegenden Untersuchung sind die Ich-bin-Worte des Johannesevangeliums. Diese werden in ihrem spätantiken Lese- und Rezeptionskontext interpretiert, wobei die Intertextualitätstheorie als methodische Basis dient und auch außerbiblische Schriften zum Vergleich herangezogen werden, die in der Forschung der vergangenen Jahrzehnte kaum berücksichtigt worden sind. Ergänzend zur vergleichenden Untersuchung der Formel "Ich bin..." werden die prädikativen Ich-bin-Worte als Metaphoren näher bestimmt und exemplarisch drei ausgewählte Prädikationen, nämlich "Brot", "Licht" und "Weinstock" in ihrem jeweiligen Kontext analysiert. Dabei wird deutlich, dass die johanneische Christologie primär als Inkarnationchristologie zu verstehen ist.

Niemand kommt in das Haus des Vaters, außer durch dieses ICH BIN. Wenn ihr dieses ICH BIN erkennt, kennt ihr den Vater, und ihr werdet den Weg wissen.» Er ermutigt uns, diesen Weg zu beschreiten, um das eigene Innere, das Zentrum des eigenen Seins, die Gegenwart Gottes «ICH BIN» zu finden. Die Kraft in den ICH BIN Aussagen, in den uralten Bija Mantras Indiens und Tibets, lassen Jesus jede Krankheit und selbst den physischen Tod überwinden und gipfeln in der Aussage «ICH BIN die Auferstehung und das Leben». Der amerikanische Mystiker Peter Mt. Shasta hat die Lehren Jesu im Lichte gnostischer Texte und der alten Weisheitslehren des fernen Ostens, auf die sie zurückzuführen sind, für den Leser von heute in einer modernisierten Fassung interpretiert.

Bach's Johannine Theology: The St. John Passion and the Cantatas for Spring 1725 is a fertile examination of this group of fourteen surviving liturgical works. Renowned Bach scholar Eric Chafe begins his investigation into Bach's theology with the composer's St. John Passion, concentrating on its first and last versions. Beyond providing a uniquely detailed assessment of the passion, Bach's Johannine Theology is the first work to take the work beyond the scope of an isolated study, considering its meaning from a variety of musical and historical standpoints. Chafe thereby uncovers a range of theological implications underlying Bach's creative approach itself. Building considerably on his previous work, Chafe here expands his methodological approach to Bach's vocal music by arguing for a multi-layered approach to religion in Bach's compositional process. Chafe bases this approach primarily on two aspects of Bach's theology: first, the specific features of Johannine theology, which contrast with the more narrative approach found in the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke); and second, contemporary homiletic and devotional writings - material that is not otherwise easily accessible, and less so in English translation. Bach's St. John Passion is surely one of the monuments of Western music, yet performances of it are inevitably controversial. In large part, this is because of the combination of the powerful and highly emotional music and a text that includes passages from a gospel marked by vehement anti-Judaic sentiments. What did this masterpiece mean in Bach's day and what does it mean today? Although bibliographies on Bach and Judaism have grown enormously since World War II, there has been very little work on the relationship between the two areas. This is hardly surprising; Judaica scholars and culture critics focusing on issues of anti-Semitism commonly lack musical training and are, in any event, quite reasonably interested in even more pressing social and political issues. Bach scholars, on the other hand, have mostly concentrated on narrowly defined musical topics. Strangely, therefore, almost no scholarly attention has been given to relationships between Lutheranism and the religion of Judaism as they affect Bach's most controversial work, the St. John Passion. Through a reappraisal of Bach's work and its contexts, Marissen confronts Bach and Judaism directly, providing interpretive commentary that could serve as a basis for a more informed and sensitive discussion of this troubling work. Consisting of a long interpretive essay, followed by an annotated literal translation of the libretto, a guide to recorded examples, and a detailed bibliography, this concise text provides the reader with the tools to assess the work on its own terms and in the appropriate context.
