We are delighted to deliver the Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Innovation in Education, Science and Culture (ICIESC). This conference was organized by Research and Community Service Centre of Universitas Negeri Medan (LPPM UNIMED) held virtually on 31 August 2021. By raise up the main theme of Leading Recovery: “The New Innovation in Education, Science and Culture After a Global Pandemic”, the 3rd ICIESC conference shows up several interested topics as a Science Education, Vocational Education, Social Science and Humanities, Management Innovation and Heritage Culture. Some of the topics been interested topic and important to be discussed. With the number participant is 180 participants, who came from Universitas Negeri Medan, Universitas Negeri Makasar, Widyagama University of Malang, Rizal Technological University, Philippine, Sholom-Aleichem Priamursky State University Rusia, Thu Dau Mot University Vietnam. ICIESC consists of 79 papers. The double blinds review process was employed by committee to evaluate all papers, whose members are highly qualified independent researchers in the ICIESC topic area. It has been our privilege to convene this conference. Our sincere thanks, to the conference organizing committee; to the Program Chairs for their wise advice and brilliant suggestion on organizing the technical program and to the Program Committee for their through and timely reviewing of the papers. We are delighted to present the Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Innovation in Education, Science and Culture (ICIESC) that organized by Research and Community Service Centre of Universitas Negeri Medan (LPPM UNIMED). Proceedings of the 4th ICIESC contains several papers that have presented at the seminar with theme Education and Science in time of uncertainty: Recovering for the Future. This conference was held on 11 October 2022 virtually and become a routine agenda annually. The 4th ICIESC was realized this year with various presenters, lecturers, researchers and students from universities both in and out of Indonesia. The persecution of people in Africa on the basis of their assumed or perceived homosexual orientation has received considerable coverage in the popular media in recent years. Gay-bashing by political and religious figures in Zimbabwe and Gambia; draconian new laws against lesbians and gays and their supporters in Malawi, Nigeria and Uganda; and the imprisonment and extortion of gay men in Senegal and Cameroon have all rightly sparked international condemnation. However, much of the analysis has been highly critical of African leadership and culture without considering local nuances, historical factors and external influences that are contributing to the problem. Such commentary also overlooks grounds for optimism in the struggle for sexual rights and justice in Africa, not just for sexual minorities but for the majority population as well. Based on pioneering research on the history of homosexualities and engagement with current lgbti and HIV/AIDS activism, Marc Epprecht provides a sympathetic overview of the issues at play and a hopeful outlook on the potential of sexual rights for all.

Discipline-based art education (DBAE) is an approach to art education that draws upon four art disciplines: art production, art history, art criticism, and aesthetics. This handbook is designed to help art specialists and supervisors, classroom teachers, teacher educators, museum educators, and school administrators to understand and implement DBAE. The handbook is organized into nine sections, beginning with an introduction. Section 2 offers a general definition and rationale for the inclusion of DBAE art curricula in the general education of U.S. students. Section 3 defines the content of the four art disciplines that constitute the core of DBAE. Section 4 focuses upon the instructional materials that are used in teaching a DBAE program. Section 5 is a consideration of the roles and responsibilities of the different players in DBAE. Section 6 concerns the evaluation of curriculum and instruction. Section 7 provides a thumbnail sketch of some key issues for planning and carrying out a successful implementation of DBAE. Section 8 summarizes highlights of the literature on DBAE.
