"Trees are a symbol of power and the forest is merely an accumulation of great power." Given a second chance at life to help Isiama correct the mistake of their ancestors, Ofala must harness the great power of the forest and use it against Agbala, a vengeful Oracle holding the entire kingdom captive. He will assemble an army, men with deep hatred for the tradition, to fight the physical war; while the great power of the forest is forged into an emblem he calls The Eye of the Forest. How will The Eye of the Forest vanquish Agbala for control over Isiama? Ofala will stun everyone in the kingdom. His actions will surpass human ability and be likened to those of a god. He will deliver a whole new generation whose fate and destiny shall be theirs to control.

Buried in the deep walls of a cave, a nine-hundred-year-old prophecy of twin phase comes to light at a time Enu and Gasa kingdoms are in dispute over ownership of an Nkpa Olaedo (Golden Scepter). The prophecy portends a looming doomsday for both kingdoms on its second phase. But are they helpless to avoid it? Idika has a thrilling answer after fulfilling the first phase of The Twin Prophecy. Idika Series is a poignant tale of an almost-lost world; one that has faded into the background now, overtaken by civilization and the effects of Westernization. The stories are a vivid reminder of our essence, that 'once-upon-a-time' when the Africa the author writes about, enacted by the Enu and Gasa kingdoms, was still a virgin land abundant with Mother Nature's treasures. Our cultures, norms, traditions and practices were an adequate enough code of conduct that dictated our way of life. More specifically, the Idika Series offer a glance into the pre-colonial Igbo existence of which much has been written of, but certainly not enough.

The recent escalation in the violent conflict in the Niger Delta has brought the region to the forefront of international energy and security concerns. This book analyses the causes, dynamics and politics underpinning oil-related violence in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. It focuses on the drivers of the conflict, as well as the ways the crises spawned by the political economy of oil and contradictions within Nigeria's ethnic politics have contributed to the morphing of initially poorly coordinated, largely non-violent protests into a pan-Delta insurgency. Approaching the issue from a number of perspectives, the book offers the most up-to-date and comprehensive analysis available of the varied dimensions of the conflict. Combining empirically-based and analytic chapters, it attempts to explain the causes of the escalation in violence, the various actors, levels and dynamics involved, and the policy challenges faced with regard to conflict management/resolution and the options for peace. It also examines the role of oil as a commodity of global strategic significance, addressing the relationship between oil, energy security and development in the Niger Delta.

"The Niger delta region of Nigeria which is at the heart of the country's oil industry, has a long history of struggles for self-determination dating back to the early years of the 20[superscript th] century. In the 1980s and 1990s, these struggles, unfolding as they did within the context of military authoritarianism and structural adjustment, took the form of widespread agitation for greater control by local communities of the revenues accruing to the Nigerian state from exploration and extraction of oil." "This study attempts to capture the transformations in ethnic minority identity politics in the oil-producing areas of the Niger delta. In doing this, attention is simultaneously drawn to the factors informing the shift from peaceful agitation to violent protest as well as the dynamic of decay and renewal in the various ethnic minority movements that are active in the delta. It is suggested that part of the solution to the crisis in the delta will involve not only a thorough-going restructuring of the Nigerian state but also the re-orientation of the mode of operation of the giant oil multinationals in order to make them both more sensitive and accountable to the local communities."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. Cyber Physical Threat Intelligence For Critical Infrastructures Security written by John Soldatos and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-06-30 with categories.

Modern critical infrastructures comprise of many interconnected cyber and physical assets, and as such are large scale cyber-physical systems. Hence, the conventional approach of securing these infrastructures by addressing cyber security and physical security separately is no longer effective. Rather more integrated approaches that address the security of cyber and physical assets at the same time are required. This book presents integrated (i.e. cyber and physical) security approaches and technologies for the critical infrastructures that underpin our societies. Specifically, it introduces advanced techniques for threat detection, risk assessment and security information sharing, based on leading edge technologies like machine learning, security knowledge modelling, IoT security and distributed ledger infrastructures. Likewise, it presets how established security technologies like Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), pen-testing, vulnerability assessment and security data analytics can be used in the context of integrated Critical Infrastructure Protection. The novel methods and techniques of the book are exemplified in case studies involving critical infrastructures in four industrial sectors, namely finance, healthcare, energy and communications. The peculiarities of critical infrastructure protection in each one of these sectors is discussed and addressed based on sector-specific solutions. The advent of the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) is expected to increase the cyber-physical nature of critical infrastructures as well as their interconnection in the scope of sectorial and cross-sector value chains. Therefore, the demand for solutions that foster the interplay between cyber and physical security, and enable Cyber-Physical Threat Intelligence is likely to explode. In this book, we have shed light on the structure of such integrated security systems, as well as on the technologies that will underpin their operation. We hope that Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection stakeholders will find the book useful when planning their future security strategies.
