The ?eld of multi-sensor fusion and integration is growing into signi?cance as our societyisintransitionintoubiquitouscomputingenvironmentswithroboticservices everywhere under ambient intelligence. What surround us are to be the networks of sensors and actuators that monitor our environment, health, security and safety, as well as the service robots, intelligent vehicles, and autonomous systems of ever heightened autonomy and dependability with integrated heterogeneous sensors and actuators. The ?eld of multi-sensor fusion and integration plays key role for m- ing the above transition possible by providing fundamental theories and tools for implementation. This volume is an edition of the papers selected from the 7th IEEE International Conference on Multi-Sensor Integration and Fusion, IEEE MFI‘08, held in Seoul, Korea, August 20–22, 2008. Only 32 papers out of the 122 papers accepted for IEEE MFI’08 were chosen and requested for revision and extension to be included in this volume. The 32 contributions to this volume are organized into three parts: Part I is dedicated to the Theories in Data and Information Fusion, Part II to the Multi-Sensor Fusion and Integration in Robotics and Vision, and Part III to the Applications to Sensor Networks and Ubiquitous Computing Environments. To help readers understand better, a part summary is included in each part as an introduction. The summaries of Parts I, II, and III are prepared respectively by Prof. Hanseok Ko, Prof. Sukhan Lee and Prof. Hernsoo Hahn.

Dual Polarization Two Port Fiber Optic Gyroscope written by Zinan Wang and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-03-23 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This thesis demonstrates and investigates novel dual-polarization interferometric fiber-optic gyroscope (IFOG) configurations, which utilize optical compensation between two orthogonal polarizations to suppress errors caused by polarization nonreciprocity. Further, it provides a scheme for dual-polarization two-port IFOGs and details their unique benefits. Dual-polarization IFOGs break through the restriction of the "minimal scheme," which conventional IFOGs are based on. These innovative new IFOGs have unique properties: They require no polarizer and have two ports available for signal detection. As such, they open new avenues for IFOGs to achieve lower costs and higher sensitivity.

Data Analytics For Drilling Engineering written by Qilong Xue and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-30 with Science categories.

This book presents the signal processing and data mining challenges encountered in drilling engineering, and describes the methods used to overcome them. In drilling engineering, many signal processing technologies are required to solve practical problems, such as downhole information transmission, spatial attitude of drillstring, drillstring dynamics, seismic activity while drilling, among others. This title attempts to bridge the gap between the signal processing and data mining and oil and gas drilling engineering communities. There is an urgent need to summarize signal processing and data mining issues in drilling engineering so that practitioners in these fields can understand each other in order to enhance oil and gas drilling functions. In summary, this book shows the importance of signal processing and data mining to researchers and professional drilling engineers and open up a new area of application for signal processing and data mining scientists.

Gyroscopes written by Xuye Zhuang and has been published by BoD – Books on Demand this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-20 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book covers recent topics on gyroscopes. It briefly introduces the history of gyroscopes, and presents a concise analysis of the main types. The classical structure and main performance parameters of an interferometric fiber-optic gyroscope and an integrated optics passive-resonator gyroscope are analyzed. The developmental progress of a fiber optic gyroscope and its research situation in the United States, Japan, France, and other major developing countries are also presented. An effective autoregressive moving average model was invented to reduce MEMS gyroscope noise behavior. A discrete-time nonlinear attitude tracking control system was verified to achieve the agility and large-angle attitude maneuvers of spacecraft by numerical simulations. MEMS gyroscopes were experimentally demonstrated to be effective tools for gait analysis and to reduce the cost of revealing underlying pathologies.

Vibratory Gyroscopes Based On Micro Electro Mechanical And Non Micro Electro Mechanical Systems written by Valeri V. Chikovani and has been published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-15 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book provides a unified approach for the two versions of Coriolis vibratory gyroscopes: Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) and non-MEMS. It describes a new, differential mode of operation, analyzing the new triple mode gyro—rate, rate-integrating, and differential. The latter provides the gyro with an increased versatility by providing the maximum possible accuracy under changeable motion parameters and environmental conditions. The book also presents computer simulation, experiments, and test results on the rejection of external disturbances, and considers the fabrication processes of MEMS, metallic and quartz resonators. It will interest researchers, scientists, engineers, and students specializing in the field of inertial sensors, as well as engineers of digital control systems, and inertial sensors test-engineers. It can also be used as a reference book when designing vibratory gyros.
