Absolwent filozofii na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim i slawistyki w Pradze. Zadebiutował nowelami w warszawskim „Kurierze Porannym". Współpracował z „Kurierem Świątecznym", lwowskim „Słowem Polskim" i „Kurierem Poznańskim". Był autorem powieści obyczajowych, sensacyjnych oraz książek dla dzieci. W 1951 roku jego utwory znalazły się na liście pozycji objętych cenzurą i wycofano je z polskich bibliotek. Prywatnie był bratem pisarza Juliusza Kadena Bandrowskiego.
