Niniejsza książka ma olbrzymie znaczenie, bo wychodzi naprzeciw najbardziej naglącym potrzebom współczesnej dydaktyki języka polskiego. Z jednej strony pozwala nauczycielom lepiej przygotować uczniów do zdania nowej matury, ale z drugiej – pogłębia rozeznanie w specyfice współczesnej kultury, w coraz większym stopniu synkretycznej, zacierającej granice między tradycyjnymi gatunkami i rodzajami sztuk. Mamy w tej monografii do czynienia z całym zespołem niezwykle interesujących propozycji analityczno-interpretacyjnych, przekonujących, że uniwersalne procedury interpretacyjne umożliwiają pogłębione rozumienie różnych tekstów kultury: zarówno werbalnych, jak i wizualnych. Ikoniczne i literackie teksty w przestrzeni nowoczesnej dydaktyki dowodzą, że nowoczesna dydaktyka nie jest bezradna wobec wyzwań współczesności i ma bardzo dużo do zaoferowania studentom filologii polskiej i nauczycielom, by ich trud wprowadzania młodego pokolenia w kulturę narodową i ogólnoludzką, w przestrzeń edukacji humanistycznej był jak najbardziej owocny, bo uwzględniający zmianę paradygmatu kulturowego.
