L’idea di scrivere questo libro è nata dopo anni di studio del Tarot e della Kabbalah. I grandi maestri di Kabbalah dicevano che il Tarot aveva tratto ispirazione dalla Kabbalah e i grandi tarologi dicevano, invece, che era la Kabbalah ad aver tratto ispirazione dal Tarot. Notavo anche che ogni autore mappava i 22 Arcani maggiori del Tarot e le 22 lettere dell’Alfabeto Ebraico sui 22 sentieri dell’Albero della Vita un po' come voleva, e spesso ricorreva l’affermazione che l’Albero della Vita fosse un frattale, ma nessuno lo dimostrava con riferimento al Tarot e all'Alfabeto Ebraico. Notavo anche che molti tarologi avevano creato un binomio fra il Tarot e le religioni cristiana ed ebraica, ma io vedevo delle chiare corrispondenze anche col buddismo tibetano. Insomma, un giorno è sorto in me il desiderio di capire come stessero le cose fra Tarot, Gioco degli Scacchi, Albero della Vita, Alfabeto Ebraico e Buddismo, certa in cuor mio che l’Albero della Vita fosse un frattale, come anche il Tarot e l’Alfabeto Ebraico, e che il Tarot avesse un forte legame col Gioco degli Scacchi e con tutte le antiche tradizioni sapienziali. Così ho lentamente dimostrato tutto ciò che sentivo, dando forma a quest'opera. Nella Parte 1 mostro come già dall'etimologia della parola “torre” emerga uno stretto legame di significato fra la Torre, il Tarot, la Torah, l’Albero della Vita e l’Alfabeto Ebraico. Vedremo anche come il Tarot e il Gioco degli Scacchi siano intimamente legati fra loro e incarnino entrambi il mito del Viaggio dell’Eroe. Lo stesso dicasi per l’antica Massoneria, che è nata nel Medioevo, come nel Medioevo sono nati il Tarot, il Gioco degli Scacchi e (ufficialmente) la Kabbalah. Infine, vedremo in dettaglio i diversi nomi assunti nel tempo dall’Arcano maggiore XVI del Tarot, che solo in epoca relativamente recente è stato ribattezzato “La Torre”. Capiremo, così, che il Tarot ha avuto sempre anche una grande importanza storica e politica e che il nome dato all'Arcano maggiore XVI celava dei messaggi profondi, che val la pena conoscere. Nella Parte 2 analizzo tutti i simboli presenti nell'icona La Torre del Tarot di Marsiglia e, capitolo dopo capitolo, mappo su di essa tutto l’Alfabeto Ebraico. Questo perché è vero che a ognuno dei 22 Arcani maggiori del Tarot corrisponde una delle 22 lettere dell’Alfabeto Ebraico, ma come è vero che, se il Tarot e l’Albero della Vita sono dei frattali, a un Arcano maggiore del Tarot corrisponde anche l’intero Alfabeto Ebraico. Per dimostrare ciò mi avvarrò della Torah ebraica e della Bibbia cattolica, della mitologia greca, degli insegnamenti dell’Alchimia e della Kabbalah e del Vangelo di Tommaso. Sì, perché lungo tutto il testo mi sono divertita anche a interpretare i detti del Vangelo di Tommaso, dandone un significato lontano, se non lontanissimo, da quello dato dai sacerdoti e dai biblisti tutti, ma che ben si sposava coi temi da me trattati di volta in volta. Ho usato una grossa fetta di libertà artistica per farlo, ma alla fine è venuto fuori un bel sodalizio, che mostra come il senso non sia intrinseco nelle cose, ma scaturisca dalla relazione fra le cose e da chi ha voluto e creato quella relazione. Nella Parte 3 mostro come i simboli presenti nell'icona La Torre non rimandino solo al cristianesimo e all'ebraismo, ma anche a religioni orientali come il buddismo tibetano, narrando sempre la stessa storia: il Viaggio dell’Eroe e la metamorfosi che compie l’uomo quando fa un salto di coscienza. La Parte 4 è tanto breve quanto dirompente nel suo contenuto, perché mappo su La Torre del Tarot di Marsiglia l’intero Albero della Vita, mostrando le incredibili corrispondenze fra le 10 (+1) Sephirot dell’Albero e le relative parti de La Torre del Tarot. L'intento di quest'opera è restituire dignità e onore al Tarot. Inoltre si apprende un metodo di studio da autodidatti del Tarot e s'imparano i fondamenti della Kabbalah, per vedere la vita con occhi nuovi.

La idea de escribir este libro surgió después de años de estudio del Tarot y la Cábala. Los grandes maestros de la Cábala decían que el Tarot había tomado inspiración de la Cábala y los grandes tarotistas decían, por el contrario, que era la Cábala la que había tomado inspiración del Tarot. También noté que cada autor mapeaba los 22 Arcanos Mayores del Tarot y las 22 letras del Alfabeto Hebreo en los 22 senderos del Árbol de la Vida un poco como quería, y a menudo se afirmaba que el Árbol de la Vida era un fractal, pero nadie lo demostraba en relación al Tarot y al Alfabeto Hebreo. También noté que muchos tarotistas habían creado un vínculo entre el Tarot y las religiones cristiana y judía, pero yo veía correspondencias también con el budismo. También veremos cómo el Tarot y el Juego de Ajedrez están íntimamente relacionados entre sí y encarnan ambos el mito del Viaje del Héroe. Lo mismo ocurre con la antigua Masonería, que nació en la Edad Media, al igual que en la Edad Media nacieron el Tarot, el Juego de Ajedrez y (oficialmente) la Cábala. Por último, veremos en detalle los diferentes nombres asumidos con el tiempo por el Arcano Mayor XVI del Tarot, que sólo en época relativamente reciente ha sido rebautizado como La Torre. Entenderemos, así, que el Tarot siempre ha tenido también una gran importancia histórica y política y que el nombre dado al Arcano Mayor XVI ocultaba mensajes profundos, que vale la pena conocer. En la Parte 2 analizo todos los símbolos presentes en el ícono La Torre del Tarot de Marsella y, capítulo tras capítulo, mapeo en él todo el Alfabeto Hebreo. Esto se debe a que es cierto que a cada uno de los 22 Arcanos Mayores del Tarot corresponde una de las 22 letras del Alfabeto Hebreo, pero también es cierto que, si el Tarot y el Árbol de la Vida son fractales, a un Arcano Mayor del Tarot también corresponde todo el Alfabeto Hebreo. Para demostrar esto, utilizaré la Torá hebrea y la Biblia católica, la mitología griega, la Alquimia, la Cábala, y el Evangelio de Tomás. Sí, porque a lo largo del texto también me he divertido interpretando los dichos del Evangelio de Tomás, dándoles un significado lejano, si no muy lejano, del que dan los sacerdotes y los biblistas en general, pero que encaja bien con los temas que trato de vez en cuando. He utilizado una gran cantidad de libertad artística para hacerlo, pero al final ha surgido una bella alianza, que muestra cómo el sentido no es intrínseco en las cosas, sino que surge de la relación entre las cosas y de quién ha querido y creado esa relación. En la Parte 3 muestro cómo los símbolos presentes en el ícono La Torre no solo remiten al cristianismo y al judaísmo, sino también a religiones orientales como el budismo tibetano, narrando siempre la misma historia: la metamorfosis que experimenta el ser humano cuando da un salto de conciencia. La Parte 4 es tan breve como impactante en su contenido, porque mapeo en La Torre del Tarot de Marsella el Árbol de la Vida completo, mostrando las increíbles correspondencias entre las 10 (+1) Sefirot del Árbol y las partes correspondientes de La Torre del Tarot. El propósito de esta obra es devolver dignidad y honor al Tarot, enseñar un método de estudio autodidacta del Tarot y difundir los fundamentos de la Cábala, para ver los textos sagrados y la vida con ojos nuevos.
