Dopo aver conseguito la laurea in giurisprudenza a Bologna nel 1962 è entrato in magistratura nel 1965 e vi è rimasto fino al 2008, quando ha scelto di andare in pensione. In magistratura è stato in servizio come pretore e come giudice presso il tribunale di Pescara. Poi, ha svolto le funzioni di procuratore della Repubblica a Lanciano e, quindi, di sostituto procuratore generale a L’Aquila. Ha concluso la carriera come presidente del tribunale della sua città. Nel corso degli anni ha pubblicato, con le case editrici Giuffré e Cedam, diciotto volumi di diritto penale, processuale penale e civile. Con le avventure dell'avvocato Totò Morelli esordisce nel campo del romanzo giallo, ambientando nel suo tribunale e nella sua città le storie poliziesche che, rielaborate dalla fantasia, traggono origine da vicende che ha vissuto in prima persona.

Between 1820 and 1860, rebellions shook the island as these men joined with Sicily's intellectuals in the struggle for independence from the Bourbon Kingdom of Naples. The alliance between two classes of Sicilians, James Fentress shows, made possible both the revolution and the mafia.
