Con la sua ricerca Aby Warburg (1866-1929) ha rivoluzionato le discipline storico-artistiche. L’opera d’arte – dal capolavoro all’oggetto d’uso quotidiano – è il deposito di esperienze che trasmettono una risonanza emotiva attraverso i secoli: è segno storico e insieme conduttore attivo della memoria. Nel 1933 i libri e tutti i materiali dell’Istituto fondato da Warburg ad Amburgo, migrano via nave a Londra. La crisi economica mondiale e l’avvento al potere del partito Nazionalsocialista, interrompono l’ambizioso progetto di una nuova “scienza della cultura”. Sulla figura stessa del fondatore cadde l’oblio: Warburg tornerà al centro dell’attenzione solo nel 1970, con la fortunata e discussa biografia di Ernst H. Gombrich. Kurt Forster, che da studente incontrò a Londra Gertrud Bing – l’intellettuale più vicina a Warburg e l’erede della sua impresa – è uno dei più profondi conoscitori del pensiero di Warburg. Questa nuova “biografia intellettuale” è una introduzione a un’opera dispersa e frammentaria ma è anche una lettura complessiva, attesa da tempo, del contributo di Warburg alla storia del pensiero: un appello appassionato e stimolante per uno sguardo dentro l’abisso delle immagini. The theme of Warburg’s Denkraum is the focal point of Salvatore Settis’ Anselm Kiefer's Logic of Inversion: a fundamental overview of Kiefer's Questi scritti, quando verranno bruciati, daranno finalmente un po’ di luce(Andrea Emo) on display at Sala dello Scrutinio in Palazzo Ducale, Venezia from March to October 2022. Il ruolo operativo dell’Informe, proposto da Georges Bataille, permette di dare senso a molte pratiche di trasformazione del mondo. “Assemblaggi” è costruito come un montaggio di testi su autori di diverse epoche. La descrizione e il commento delineano un percorso che indaga la potenza plastica e critica dell’Informe come apertura all’indeterminato. L’idea di un’Architettura geologica interroga le pieghe della Terra e dispiega una pratica del “maifinito” come nodo di congiunzione tra tempi e mondi diversi. Mettere in forma la tensione tra le cose costituisce il compito di un’Architettura terrestre per immaginare nuove alleanze capaci di generare futuri.
