Giugno 1948. Saltati gli equilibri stabiliti alla fine della guerra, nel cuore dell’Europa si vanno configurando due blocchi contrapposti. Dopo l’immissione di una nuova moneta nel settore occidentale, i sovietici chiudono gli accessi alla città e Berlino Ovest si trova completamente isolata. L’estate è arrivata e alcuni ragazzini giocano sulle rive della Sprea. Nell’acqua bassa notano qualcosa di strano. È una gamba mozzata. Qualche giorno dopo, da un ponte piovono interiora umane su una chiatta. In entrambi i casi, i testimoni affermano di aver visto una persona sospetta con una tuta blu. Anche il corpo di polizia viene diviso tra Est e Ovest, e a essere sorpresi a indagare al di fuori del proprio settore si rischia l’arresto. L’assassino, tuttavia, non rispetta confini.
