Traetises describing judicial procedure appeared for the first time in the twelfth century, and the expressions De iudiciis, Libellus de ordine iudiciorum and Ordines iudiciarii were among the first titles used to designate them. An ordo iudiciarius or an ordo iudiciorum is devoted exclusively to the procedural law found in Roman and/or canon law. Although the author of an ordo may have had a certain forum in mind, his description of procedure has general validity. An ordo differs in this sense from a stylus, which is the description of the procedure appropriate to a specific court. This volume draws from Ordo iudiciorum vel ordo iudiciarius (1984) by the same author, which describes the procedural texts written before 1234, but encompasses the complete lifecycle of the ordines, from the middle of the twelfth to the end of the fifteenth century.

One of America's leading appeal lawyers, Alan Dershowitz was the man chosen to prepare the appeal should O.J. Simpson have been convicted. Now Professor Dershowitz uses this case to examine the larger issues and to identify the social forces - media, money, gender, and race - that shape the criminal-justice system in America today. How could one of the longest trials in the history of America's judicial system produce a verdict after only hours of jury deliberation? Was this really a case of circumstantial evidence?

Constructions And The Analytic Field written by Domenico Chianese and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-11-21 with Psychology categories.

Constructions and the Analytic Field questions the relationship between psychoanalysis, history and literature. Does the analyst help the analysand construct a narrative, or is their task more of a historical reconstruction? In seeking to answer this question, Domenico Chianese examines Freud's writing, beginning with 'Constructions in Analysis' and ending in 'Moses and Monotheism', as well as the impressions of analytic method reflected in contemporary writers such as Thomas Mann, and historical writings from both sides of the Atlantic. Drawing on vivid and persuasive clinical examples, he argues that psychoanalysis creates a 'scenic space' between analysand and analyst, a theatrical space wherein the cast of the patient's interior world enter and exit from the scene. Drawing on the rich Italian psychoanalytic tradition, this original approach to the analytic field will be of interest to psychoanalysts, historians and literary experts.
