Il settore delle costruzioni è uno di quelli con il più alto indice infortunistico, soprattutto per il verificarsi di infortuni mortali; le statistiche indicano che il 12% degli infortuni in edilizia si possono ricondurre alle attività di scavo. L’analisi degli infortuni mostra che il seppellimento per franamento risulta frequente nei lavori di movimento terra, come gli scavi superficiali, gli sterri, i riporti o i rinterri, la preparazione delle aree, le trincee, i rilevati stradali o ferroviari, gli scavi di fondazione, ecc. Con la presente pubblicazione si intende offrire agli operatori del settore uno strumento utile per una migliore conoscenza del rischio di seppellimento, dando nel contempo le informazioni tecniche sui sistemi di prevenzione da adottare nelle attività di scavo.
