Soft tissue tumors are a rare pathology and until the advent of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, radiologists were not familiar with this uncommon pathology. Because of their rarity, multicentric studies are necessary to collect statistically relevant numbers of tumors and to assess the value of new imaging modalities in detection, staging, grading, tissue characterization, and posttreatment follow-up of soft tissue tumors. MRI potentials are most promising due to the highest contrast resolution and multiplanar capabilites of the method. This book is the reflection of the work of a multicentric European Study Group of more than 30 co-investigators which collected more than 800 cases of soft tissue tumors. Experts on medical imaging and co-investigators contributed to the realisation of this book

Bone Marrow Mri written by Lia Angela Moulopoulos and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-11-17 with Medical categories.

MRI provides the best means of imaging the bone marrow directly and of non-invasively assessing its composition. Normal age-related bone marrow changes, alterations related to red marrow reconversion, and pathological bone marrow processes generally conform to certain patterns that reflect the underlying marrow changes and can be clearly recognized on MR images. In addition to conventional pulse sequences, advanced MRI techniques such as Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI and Diffusion-Weighted Imaging depict marrow changes at the microvascular and cellular level respectively. This book provides radiologists with in-depth information on the MRI appearances of normal, abnormal and treated marrow following a structured, pattern-based approach. MRI findings for various diseases that affect the bone marrow, particularly those of a malignant nature, are presented in detail. MRI pattern recognition not only offers a systematic approach to image interpretation and diagnosis but also has prognostic implications with regard to some disease entities. Each chapter includes a wealth of high-quality images, together with Key Points summarizing the most important information. In addition to radiologists, practitioners with an interest in hematology and oncology will find this textbook-atlas to be a valuable resource for the latest, clinically relevant advances in bone marrow imaging.

Diagnosis Of Musculoskeletal Tumors And Tumor Like Conditions written by Piero Picci and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-06 with Medical categories.

This book, now in a second revised edition, casts light on the often complex diagnosis of musculoskeletal tumors and tumor-like conditions by drawing on the experience of the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute during more than 100 years of treatment and research in the field. The different entities are described from a multidisciplinary perspective, highlighting clinical, radiological, and histological correlations. Particular emphasis is placed on differential diagnosis, which often needs to take into account nontumoral conditions. The recent identification of further significant biological and genetic features, and the impact of these discoveries on the classification of round cell tumors, vascular lesions, and spindle/pleomorphic entities in bone, is also extensively discussed. The Rizzoli case archive dates back to September 1900 and contains the original material relating to more than 29,000 bone lesions and 11,000 soft tissue lesions. It is a fabulously rich resource, and this book will be invaluable for pathologists, radiologists, and clinicians at all levels of experience.
