What we do in life often does come back to us. This is not all that comes our way in life. We can only control what we initiate. In My Egotistical Opinion is a collection of what author Harlen Koen would want to say to his children if he had teenage or older children. This book is for teenagers, young adults, adults, and seniors. Hopefully those who read this book will not have to spend a lifetime to learn what he learned the hard way. It includes talk about sex, narcotics, alcohol, abortion, suicide, the Golden Rule, and the Jesus freak, just to mention a few. The theme of the Golden Rule runs throughout this book. It is not just the Golden Rule as a cute rule. Sometimes it is a cold hard fact of life. In My Egotistical Opinion points out that what we do does in fact come back to us. This is not all that will cross our path in life. Bad things happen to good people. Sometimes we are just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sometimes we are affected by what others have done, regardless of what we have done. The Golden Rule is simple. Life is complicated. The least often becomes what is most significant, so we need to pay attention to the little things. Two things that seem contradictory do not require one to be false and the other true. Sometimes both are true.

Thought S Ego In Augustine And Descartes written by Gareth B. Matthews and has been published by Cornell University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

In his concise and ambitious book, Gareth B. Matthews explores the implications of doing philosophy in the first person. He focuses on the most notable attempts in the history of philosophy to take this perspective: Augustine's Confessions, perhaps the first significant autobiography in Western culture, and Soliloquies, a dialogue between himself and reason; and Descartes's Meditations and Discourse on Method. "By examining the first-personalization of philosophy in these two historical figures," he writes, "we can learn something important about our own philosophical options, and about those of any other thinker who dares, philosophically, to say 'I.'"

On Freud S Group Psychology And The Analysis Of The Ego written by Ethel Spector Person and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-06-04 with Psychology categories.

The sixth volume in the series "Contemporary Freud: Turning Points and Critical Issues," published with the International Psychoanalytic Association, turns to Group Psychology and the Analysis of the Ego (1921). In this classic text Freud offered an analysis of the roots of group identity, of the contagions of panic and fanaticism, and of the submission of the individual to the leader that only gained cogency with each passing decade of the troubled twentieth century. And Freud's insights have become more relevant still in the aftermath of the shattering events of September 11, 2001. Following an introduction to the volume by Ethel Spector Person and a summary and abridgement of Freud's text by John Kerr, the contributors to this volume - Didier Anzieu, Robert Caper, Abraham Zeleznik, Andre Haynal, Ernst Falzeder, Yolanda Gampel, and Claudio Laks Eisirik - provide commentaries on Freud's work, explicating the multiple ways in which Freud's insights continue to illuminate the irrational dynamics to which all groups, including psychoanalytic institutions, are prey. Serving as both an introduction to, and an elegant expansion of, Freud's texts, this volume demonstrates the role of psychoanalytic hypotheses in obtaining deeper insight into the tectonic shifts in group psychology underlying today's mass society.

No Ego written by Cy Wakeman and has been published by St. Martin's Griffin this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-19 with Business & Economics categories.

The New York Times bestselling author of Reality-Based Leadership rejects the current fad of "engaging" employees and the emotional drama of "meeting their needs"--returning leadership to leaders and productivity to businesses. For years now, leaders in almost every industry have accepted two completely false assumptions--that change is hard, and that engagement drives results. Those beliefs have inspired expensive attempts to shield employees from change, involve them in high-level decision-making, and keep them happy with endless “satisfaction surveys” and workplace perks. But what these engagement programs actually do, Cy Wakeman says, is inflate expectations and sow unhappiness, leaving employees unprepared to adapt to even minor changes necessary to the organization’s survival. Rather than driving performance and creating efficiencies, these programs fuel entitlement and drama, costing millions in time and profit. It is high time to reinvent leadership thinking. Stop worrying about your employees’ happiness, and start worrying about their accountability. Cy Wakeman teaches you how to hire “emotionally inexpensive” people, solicit only the opinions you need, and promote self-awareness in your whole team. No Ego disposes with unproven HR maxims, and instead offers a complete plan to turn your office from a den of discontent to a happy, productive place.

The Ego And His Own written by Max Stirner and has been published by Verso Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-01-07 with Philosophy categories.

The Ego and His Own, the seminal defence of individualism, coloured the thinking of Friedrich Nietzsche, Max Ernst, Henrik Ibsen and Victor Serge, among many others, some of whom would vigorously deny any such influence in later years. Less reticent was Marcel Duchamp, who described Max Stirner as the philosopher most important to his work. Challenging the religious, philosophical and political constraints on personal freedom, Stirner criticizes all doctrines and beliefs that place the interests of God, the state, humanity or society over those of the individual. Anticipating the later work of nihilists, existentialists, and anarchists, The Ego and His Own upholds personal autonomy against all that might oppose it.

Love, Guilt and Reparation shows the growth of Melanie Klein`s work and ideas between 1921 and 1945. The earlier papers reveal her intense proccupation with the impact of infant anxieties upon child development. She traces these influences on criminality and childhood psychosis, symbol formation and intellectual inhibition and the early development of conscience. In the final paper on the Oedipus complex, Klein develops her theories of the earliest infant stages of development, extending Freud`s analysis of the Oedipus complex and laying a basis for her own subsequent conceptualising of the paranoid-schizoid position in the first six months of life. The volume also contains a foreward by Dr Hanna Segal and explanatory notes by the Editorial Board of the Melanie Klein Trust.

Indian scriptures are the treasure hove of philosophy—the philosophy of work and life. They offer vital guidelines on Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Social Psychology, Human Behavior and Modern-day Management concepts. Ancient Indian scriptures such as the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads and some parts of Mahabharata are included in the book for HRM topics such as self-management, ethics, values, work potential, motivation, leadership, boss management, stress management and interpersonal relationships, etc. The study used quantitative methodology and collected data from 273 participants working in ten Indian companies. The statistical results have been included in the book only briefly to retain flow and fluency of thought for the reader. The work addresses the vital HR management issues in a culturally sensitive approach that is thoroughly based on Indian scriptural advices. The study proposes to plug the gaps in existing management knowledge that is lopsidedly based on the Western management research and theories. Resultantly, Arjuna Syndrome Model and Krishna Cure Model are presented. These models plug in the gaps in existing literature in the HRM and advance theory by suggesting novel ways of managing emotions, motivation, leadership, interpersonal relationships, recruitment and work potential at workplace.
