It is as impossible for one civilization, whether superior or ipferior, to come in touch with another civili zation without unfolding its own characteristics, as it is impossible for one vessel to throw its search-light upon another without exposing its own broad outlines to the gaze of the latter. Many difficulties face by the pre-independence Indian National Congress are critically examined for the first time in this volume.
