As the India Australia relationship upgrades from 3Cs of Cricket, Curry and Commonwealth to 3Ds of Defence, Diplomacy and Diaspora, the evolving dynamics of the relationship have a huge potential for both the countries. The opportunities provided by the 3Ds are immense and are having incremental, clear and conclusive repercussions for the relationship. Based on Defence, Diplomacy and Diaspora and supported by specifics, India and Australia in Indo-Pacific provides an insight into the interplay between the three Ds and attempts to lend a prognostication for the bilateral relationship.

This book explores a range of connections between India and Australia that fall outside the formal diplomacy of the two states. It examines how race, class and gender shape conceptions of the two nations, whose voices are heard and whose are not, and the politics that emerge from sport, culture, the drive for development as well as from language and the poetic. The book seeks to challenge the primacy of the state in determining the character of the nation and its monopoly of relations with other peoples. To this end, it looks to everyday life to find linkages not only between India and Australia but also extending through the South and Southeast Asian regions. This book was published as a special issue of Postcolonial Studies.

Australian Indonesian Relations Since 1945 written by Robert Catley and has been published by Ashgate Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998 with Political Science categories.

An account of relations between Australia and Indonesia during the period between 1945 and 1997. Indonesia and Australia, while not each other's closest neighbours, are geographically close to one another. This geographic proximity, however, has not resulted in their sharing of many characteristics. It has often been argued that the enormous differences between the two countries has been a major factor behind the uneven and erratic history of their relationship. This study explores the extent to which this has remained the case in the 1990s. In approaching the theme, it adopts historical and systematic approaches and argues that interactions between two such middle powers cannot be understood separately from the overall trends of global politics. It also adopts the view that despite the large differences in size, culture, wealth and political systems - geography has dictated that the two countries share similar geo-political interest and on that basis, a decent working relationship has been painstakingly built against a difficult background.
