Practical Design of Digital Circuits: Basic Logic to Microprocessors demonstrates the practical aspects of digital circuit design. The intention is to give the reader sufficient confidence to embark upon his own design projects utilizing digital integrated circuits as soon as possible. The book is organized into three parts. Part 1 teaches the basic principles of practical design, and introduces the designer to his ""tools"" — or rather, the range of devices that can be called upon. Part 2 shows the designer how to put these together into viable designs. It includes two detailed descriptions of actual design exercises. The first of these is a fairly simple exercise in CMOS design; the second is a much more complex design for an electronic game, using TTL devices. Part 3 focuses on microprocessors. It illustrates how a particular design problem changes emphasis when a microprocessor is introduced. This book is aimed at a fairly broad market: it is intended to aid the linear design engineer to cross the barrier into digital electronics; it should provide interesting supporting reading for students studying digital electronics from the more academic viewpoint; and it should enable the enthusiast to design much more ambitious and sophisticated projects than he could otherwise attempt if restricted to linear devices.

Analog Interfacing To Embedded Microprocessors written by Stuart R. Ball and has been published by Newnes this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001 with Electronic books categories.

Analog Interfacing to Embedded Microprocessors addresses the technologies and methods used in interfacing analog devices to microprocessors, providing in-depth coverage of practical control applications, op amp examples, and much more. A companion to the author's popular Embedded Microprocessor Systems: Real World Design, this new embedded systems book focuses on measurement and control of analog quantities in embedded systems that are required to interface to the real world. At a time when modern electronic systems are increasingly digital, a comprehensive source on interfacing the real world to microprocessors should prove invaluable to embedded systems engineers, students, technicians, and hobbyists. Anyone involved in connecting the analog environment to their digital machines, or troubleshooting such connections will find this book especially useful. Stuart Ball is also the author of Debugging Embedded Microprocessor Systems, both published by Newnes. Additionally, Stuart has written articles for periodicals such as Circuit Cellar INK, Byte, and Modern Electronics. Provides hard-to-find information on interfacing analog devices and technologies to the purely digital world of embedded microprocessors. Gives the reader the insight and perspective of a real embedded systems design engineer, including tips that only a hands-on professional would know. Covers important considerations for both hardware and software systems when linking analog and digital devices.

Microprocessor Interface Design written by Jean-Daniel Nicoud and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1991-10-31 with Computers categories.

In order to come up with a reasonably optimized result when designing a hardware interface for a microprocessor or a specialized application, a designer must be quite knowledgeable and constantly keep abreast of new developments. Not only must he master traditional methods used for logic systems but he must also be familiar with a wide range of solutions and a technology which never stops progressing. The CMOS and TTL integrated circuit families include the basic bricks used to build an interface, although prefabricated modules of various sizes may improve the performance/price ratio. Programmable networks (PLD, PAL ®, GAL ®, etc.) are becoming more and more diversified and gate arrays can justifiably be used for smaller and smaller series. When signals work on low frequencies, they can be read or activated by an appropriately programmed microcontroller, which may work out cheaper than wired logic. Therefore, engineers must never stop improving their knowledge and questioning the developing techniques which they learnt to master and which have proved reliable. This book does not only deal with digital circuits, although the basic idea is to interconnect functional blocks only through logic connections. The word interface here really refers to an interface between a microproces.

Digital Interface Design And Application written by Jonathan A. Dell and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-06-26 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Many computer applications require microprocessors to reliably interconnect and communicate with other peripherals in order to perform their intended functions. Interface design, which includes the development of the methods and processes by which two or more components communicate, is a crucial step in the deployment of microprocessors in an embedded computing environment. ARM-based microprocessors are a leading technology in this field, offering a wide range of performance for different applications. This book provides a comprehensive treatment of interface design from basic logical and theoretical principles to practical implementation on an ARM-based microprocessor, addressing both hardware and software considerations. The microprocessor’s high level of complexity is carefully analysed in the text to provide clear guidance for the reader in the design of new applications, resulting in an invaluable reference resource for graduates and engineers involved in the design of electronic products and systems. Key Features: Brings together aspects of digital hardware, interface design and software integration in a single text to make clear the link between low and high level languages for interface control Categorises interface techniques into easily distinguished chapters, progressively involving greater complexity, enabling the reader to quickly find relevant material for a particular application Provides many practical C-coded examples showing both the preparation and use of complex programmable subsystems implemented in a typical commercial product Presents in each chapter an introduction to the essential theoretical aspects and the development of simple interface designs using basic logical building blocks
