Interpreting The Eclipses written by Robert Carl Jansky and has been published by Astrology Classics this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

Long out of print and hard to find, this is the most celebrated book on eclipses of the last seventy years. In this book, learn the unique astronomical factors that create eclipses and why some eclipses are total while others are not. Learn how the Chaldeans discovered the Saros cycle in the sixth century BC, which is still in use today. Learn how the Greeks discovered the Metonic cycle. Find out how the Saros cycle is used in forecasting the effects of eclipses. Jansky gives the astrological key for all 19 of the Saros series. The author uses his understanding of eclipse mechanics in analysis. He uses the twelve houses of the chart, planets conjunct and opposed, the Saros series, fixed stars conjunct the eclipse as well as stars rising or setting on the horizon (ascendant/descendant), the planetary ruler, and the path of the Moon's shadow (the umbra) as it races across the earth during the eclipse itself. Jansky's interpretation of eclipses is rooted in Transactional Analysis (what I do to you becomes what you do to me, etc.), which, astrologically, is the study of polarities, which is what lunar and solar eclipses literally represent, and how these polarities, expressed as opposing signs and houses, can be resolved in terms of human relationships. Jansky delves into the astrological duration of an eclipse, prenatal eclipses, eclipses in rectification and eclipses and health. For case studies he tells of an eclipse-driven corporate crisis at his employer and how it impacted him, his fellow employees, and the management. In the data section, solar eclipses for the 20th century: Date, degree of the zodiac, total, partial or annular, and the Saros number. Also, longitudes of major fixed stars and general and medical bibliographies. A comprehensive book on eclipses. A must-have.

Two questions guide this seven-year project: First, how can we approach the phenomenon, representation, and interpretation of total solar eclipses? Second, how can we heal the historical divide separating the natural sciences from the humanities, arts, history, and theology? The result of this interdisciplinary investigation into eclipses is an exciting look behind the scenes - into labs, archives, and museums, as well as around fieldwork in astronomy, meteorology, animal behaviour, and ecophysiology. Carefully prepared for readers from all backgrounds, these voices invite us to imagine a liberated mode of discovery, perception, creativity, and knowledge-production across the traditional academic divisions. A uniquely prismatic representation of total solar eclipses emerges, itself rising to a model of communal thinking, together, across disciplinary borders. This book is Tom McLeish's final project and scholarly testament. Dedicated to him and to astrophysicist Jay M. Pasachoff (contributing author of a chapter about the solar corona, also Pasachoff's final piece of writing), the volume is a friendly companion to the chase of knowledge, encouraging its readers to embark upon their own interdisciplinary journey of discovery.

Eclipses play a crucial role in the fates of nations and the lives of individuals. Nationally known astrologer Celeste Teal draws on nearly thirty years of astrological experience to explain and illustrate how eclipses act as cosmic telegrams about the current state of our world, our personal lives, and our relationships with others. Eclipses illustrates how recent and historical events can be linked directly to eclipses, and provides predictions for their effects on world events in the next decade and beyond. Readers will explore the effects of prenatal eclipses on the natal chart, as well as past, present, and future eclipses. While eclipses are often mentioned in monthly horoscopes, no other book has ever attempted to demonstrate how these heavenly events are observably connected to both world events and personal affairs.

Perhaps everyone interested in reading, for example, the history of Assyria, Babylon and Egypt, has at some point noticed some references to solar eclipses observed at that distant time. Taking a glance at the chronologies of those peoples, it can be stated that the solar eclipses observed cannot be found in the reign periods of those kings. The Author has discovered this scientific vacuum and he has considered it to be an appropriate opportunity to specify the chronologies of the peoples reigning in the Middle East in 1600-530 BC in connection with accordance of the observed eclipses. This study raises justified questions: did the solar eclipse observed in Ashur-Dan III's 9th regnal year in 800 BC or in 809 BC? Or could it have happened in 791 BC? This study presents a new feature of applying new studies by Egyptian astronomer Aymen M. Ibrahim for the first time in practice to the history of the peoples. This new study can be regarded very exceptional, as this is the world's first major encouragement of how a chronology can be timed using solar eclipses. This Book includes 74 images and more than 40 tables and text boxes.
