Since he was a kid growing up in Escanaba, Michigan, he has prayed every day. The prayers were usually the same, but a few years ago when terrorists attacked Brussels and Paris, he looked at prayer differently. Terry noticed that the world wasn’t the same as in the fifties and that man had forgotten about faith and instead embraced religion. As the world continued to go into a tailspin, he began writing Interview with Jesus, a book on prayer. Prayer has changed drastically in his life as the world changes, and he decided to speak with instead of to Jesus Christ and ask him questions only he could answer. Why Jesus and not God? Jesus is both man and God and has walked this earth as we all do now. He met with resistance, good, evil, sinners, saints, disciples, and murderers. Most writers describe what their book is, but Terry prefers to tell you what this book isn’t. It doesn’t put words in our Lord’s mouth, but rather lets him answer the questions in his own manner, using language that is his, not the author’s, and reflects on issues according to his personal philosophy, not that of Terry Dufour. This book is not an editorial or opinion page from a newspaper, but rather a fact-based, heartfelt, unbiased account of the love Jesus and his father have for each one of us. It is not written by a priest, minister, biblical scholar, or evangelical, but by an Everyman, the author, a simple man with a great trust and love in faith. Finally, Interview with Jesus is not a scam or sham. As Terry notes in the prologue, he not only heard but also listened to Jesus’s voice during those extraordinary moments when he left his own designs behind and focused on the preachings and teachings of a man who was tortured and died on a cross for him, a stranger, and all other men, women, and children that he and his father love so dearly.

MOST OF THE GREAT UTTERANCES OF JESUS WERE MADE in conversation with individuals. He did, indeed, on occasion preach to the multitudes, but the things which we remember best in his teachings were spoken in these personal interviews with men and women. It is the personal touch and the personal word that counts, and here in these memorable interviews of Jesus we have that personal word and that personal touch. These interviews take in the whole ministry of Christ—heaven, earth, and hell. They strike every chord of human sorrow and temptation and sin and hope, and every chord, too, of the gospel of grace and redemption.—Clarence Edward Macartney

Dr Hodges believes the humanity of Jesus has been neglected. He has fashioned a format in which Jesus answers intimate questions about the details of his life, including some not recorded in the Gospels. For example, what would Mary have told Jesus the child about the incarnation?

Not since the time of Martin Luther, has one man alone laid the groundwork for what might be most appropriately designated as a spiritual and/or religious revolution. Had Martin Luther possibly lived in our own time of such noble scientifi c discoveries and above all, our almost total access to the seemingly infi nite amount of present as well as historical information, that seemingly lies at our fi ngertips on that more than infamous home computer, then the very true spirit of one, Martin Luther, might just as well be known to all as J. Lamah Walker. Dr. Walker, who prefers to simply be called by his middle name of “Lamah” or “J. Lamah”, has only recently fi nished his life’s literary manuscripts on the coming of this Age of Reality. He had opted to put off any publication of his dedicated works until he had fi nished all six books on the Age of Reality along with a thorough autobiography, because he simply did not want to be burdened with the demands of some very anxious literary agent or publisher trying to meet some unknown deadlines. Lamah has now chosen to publish his life’s work and One Baptist minister said after reading, Shamans of San Damiano, that it was one of the best takes on his theology that he had ever encountered and had asked Lamah to please consider writing a sequel. As this minister put it, “I am already missing this very unique and inspirational cast of characters and their incredibly special spiritual mission.” And very truthfully all six books suggest this very same theology.

Tragedy is something that we all encounter at one time or another. Sometimes tragedy feels constant and overwhelming: hurricanes, a sudden death, even just a broken down car, can make us feel like we're losing control of our lives. We may not be able to

What would you do if you had the chance to hang out with Jesus Christ for twenty-four hours in the present day? What questions would you ask him? The meaning of life? What happens after you die? Was your mom really a virgin? That's the situation the narrator of The Interview found himself in. Christ comes back to earth for twenty-four hours to be interviewed so that he can 'set the record straight' about all the loopy stuff that has gone on in his name over the past two thousand years. Compelling, controversial and at times hilarious, the narrator, Rog, interviews Christ about the big questions in life. At various times during the interview he is transported back to first-century Palestine so that Christ can show him what really happened back in the day. The result is a wild ride into the very mind of God. In the spirit of Christopher Moore (Lamb: The Gospel According Biff), C.S. Lewis (The Screwtape Letters), and Nikos Kazantzakis (The Last Temptation of Christ), The Interview presents Christ as human, compassionate, funny and curious as he struggles with his own human foibles, frailties and doubts, trying to spread his message of the Kingdom of God to a 21st century audience.
