Este libro como compendio estructurado de los problemas que hemos empleado en diferentes asignaturas relacionadas con optimización y programación matemática durante nuestros años impartiendo clase en la E.T.S.I. Industriales de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Es una modesta contribución para ayudar al aprendizaje de los fundamentos de algunas técnicas de optimización: la programación lineal, la programación lineal entera, los problemas de redes y las técnicas metaheurísticas y, en particular, para nuestros futuros alumnos, para que puedan superar la asignatura con éxito y, por qué no, con disfrute. Específicamente, creemos que el número, el tipo y las características de los ejercicios responden a ese objetivo en el caso de los alumnos de las asignaturas de Métodos Cuantitativos de Ingeniería de Organización I (Grado en Ingeniería de Técnologías Industriales) y Métodos de Ayuda a la Decisión (del Grado en Ingeniería en Ingenería de Organización). Pero puede ser válido para otras asignaturas de grado en las que se desarrolle una introducción, no somera, sobre la programación lineal. Los ejercicios de este libro han sido parte de alguno de los exámenes de nuestras asignaturas (desde el curso 2013/2014) hasta el momento de la edición de este libro.
