Introduction To Advanced Electrodynamics written by Kaushik Bhattacharya and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-01-25 with Science categories.

This book summarizes the basics of electricity and magnetism prior to covariant formulation of Maxwell's equations. The book works out the basics of special relativity and then applies the covariant formalism to understand radiation, both in vacuum and in material medium. The emphasis is on cleaner mathematical formalism based on experimental facts. The book contains many problems/exercises which will help the students to understand the basics of the subject. The difference between the present book with existing books of this level lies in the presentation of the topics and the subjects chosen. Instead of presenting a lot of material related to electromagnetism, it presents some very important but selected problems of advanced electromagnetism to students who are learning it for the first time. This book is aimed at graduate/advanced graduate students who have done at least one basic level course in electricity and magnetism.

Introduction to Classical Electrodynamics 1 introduces the fundamentals of electromagnetic field theory. This book begins with electrostatics, focusing on the concepts of point charges, electric fields, electric potential and Gauss’s theorem. It then examines conductors, influence phenomena and capacitors, before exploring electrokinetics, detailing the concepts of electric current, circuits and resistance, as well as Kirchhoff’s laws. Next, this book analyzes the notion of magnetic field, Lorentz and Laplace forces, Biot-Savart’s law, Ampère’s theorem, electric and magnetic moments, and multipole developments. Boundary problems for static potentials in vacuum are also studied. The book is aimed at students of physics and mathematics, as well as engineering students interested in electromagnetic theory, providing an overview of electromagnetic theory, with numerous practical applications.

An Introduction To Electrodynamics written by P. A. Davidson and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-02-18 with Science categories.

An Introduction to Electrodynamics provides an excellent foundation for those undertaking a course on electrodynamics, providing an in-depth yet accessible treatment of topics covered in most undergraduate courses, but goes one step further to introduce advanced topics in applied physics, such as fusions plasmas, stellar magnetism and planetary dynamos. Some of the central ideas behind electromagnetic waves, such as three-dimensional wave propagation and retarded potentials, are first explored in the introductory background chapters and explained in the much simpler context of acoustic waves. The inclusion of two chapters on magnetohydrodynamics provides the opportunity to illustrate the basic theory of electromagnetism with a wide variety of physical applications of current interest. Davidson places great emphasis on the pedagogical development of ideas throughout the text, and includes many detailed illustrations and well-chosen exercises to complement the material and encourage student development.

This textbook is intended for advanced undergraduates or beginning graduates. It is based on the notes from courses I have taught at Indiana State University from 1967 to the present. The preparation needed is an introductory calculus-based course in physics and its prerequisite calculus courses. Courses in vector analysis and differential equations are useful but not required, since the text introduces these topics. In writing this book, I tried to keep my own experience as a stu dent in mind and to write the kind of book I liked to read. That goal determined the choice of topics, their order, and the method of presentation. The organization of the book is intended to encourage independent study. Accordingly, I have made every effort to keep the material self-contained, to develop the mathematics as it is needed, and to present new material by building incrementally on preceding material. In organizing the text, I have taken care to give explicit cross references, to show the intermediate steps in calculations, and to give many examples. Provided they are within the mathematical scope of this book, I have preferred elegant mathematical treatments over more ad hoc ones, not only for aesthetic reasons, but because they are often more profound and indicate connections to other branches of physics. I have emphasized physical understanding by presenting mechanical models. This book is organized somewhat differently from the traditional textbook at this level.

Advanced Electromagnetism Foundations Theory And Applications written by Terence William Barrett and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995-11-16 with Science categories.

Advanced Electromagnetism: Foundations, Theory and Applications treats what is conventionally called electromagnetism or Maxwell's theory within the context of gauge theory or Yang-Mills theory. A major theme of this book is that fields are not stand-alone entities but are defined by their boundary conditions. The book has practical relevance to efficient antenna design, the understanding of forces and stresses in high energy pulses, ring laser gyros, high speed computer logic elements, efficient transfer of power, parametric conversion, and many other devices and systems. Conventional electromagnetism is shown to be an underdeveloped, rather than a completely developed, field of endeavor, with major challenges in development still to be met.

Basics Of Quantum Electrodynamics written by Ioan Merches and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-05 with Science categories.

Quantum electrodynamics (QED) is the branch of relativistic quantum field theory that deals specifically with the interactions between charged particles. It is widely used to solve problems in many areas of physics, such as elementary particles, atomic and molecular systems, and solid state physics. This accessible text, Basics of Quantum Electrodynamics, supplies a solid foundation in this dynamic area of physics, making a direct connection to the concepts of quantum mechanics familiar to the advanced undergraduate student. Chapters cover the general theory of free fields and the quantization of the scalar, electromagnetic, and spinorial fields, which prepares readers for understanding field interactions. The authors describe the general theory of field interactions, introducing the scattering matrix and the Feynman–Dyson graphs. They then discuss divergence-free second-order processes, such as Compton and Møller scattering, followed by divergent second-order processes, which cover vacuum polarization and mass and charge renormalization. Providing a modern, informative textbook, this volume illustrates the intimate connection between quantum mechanics and QED in two basic steps: the quantization of free fields, followed by the theory of their interactions. The text contains solved problems to facilitate the application of the theory, as well as a useful appendix on the theory of distributions. The step-by-step description of the quantization of various fields and the clear presentation of the most important interaction processes in QED make this textbook a useful guide for those studying physics at both the graduate and undergraduate level, as well as a reference for teachers and researchers in the field.

Systems Theory For Engineering Practice written by Maosheng Zheng and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-12-02 with Science categories.

This book presents cognition of the universality of systems theory thinking by using some ordinary physical phenomena and their methods in study, of which the involved treatments are consistent with the viewpoint of systems theory. It contains the collective actions of classical vibration of many bodies and wave, the extreme value problem in natural world, status of electrons in atom-molecule and metals, Ising model in phase transition and elementary excitation in solid, multi-objective optimization in a system, description of effective media approximation, certainty in uncertain phenomena, all these reflect the cooperative/synergetic effects, wholeness of group actions, “unity of opposites” inside a system, and collective phenomena in a system completely. The relevant methodologies for systems theory are organic combination and synergism of both “reductionism” and “holism” instead of “confrontation” or “separation” of them, which could be used in dealing with analogous problems in systems science and engineering fields in response to the idiom of “stones from other hills being good for polishing this jade” and “comprehend by analogy”, so as to promote the transformation of wisdom to productivity. The authors wish this work could play its role as a paving stone to serve the research and application of systems theory. This book can be used as a textbook for postgraduate and advanced undergraduate students in relevant majors, and a reference book for scientists and practitioners in related fields.
