Introduction to Logic and Computer Design by Alan Marcovitz takes the successful formula realized in the author's previous books and makes it even better. With the inclusion of several chapters on computer design, Marcovitz now offers everything a fundamentals-oriented logic design course might include. Further, this new book is supported by an ARIS site and a host of new media supplements to make both the instructor's and the student's job easier. As with Marcovitz's previous books, the clear presentation of concepts and well-paced writing style make Introduction to Logic and Computer Design the ideal companion to any first course in digital logic. Users rave about the book's extensive set of examples--well integrated into the body of the text and included at the end of each chapter in sections of solved problems-- that give students multiple opportunities to understand the topics being presented.

An Introduction To Digital Computer Design written by V. RAJARAMAN and has been published by PHI Learning Pvt. Ltd. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-03-01 with Computers categories.
This highly acclaimed, well established, book now in its fifth edition, is intended for an introductory course in digital computer design for B.Sc. students of computer science, B.Tech. students of computer science and engineering, and BCA/MCA students of computer applications. A knowledge of programming in C or Java would be useful to give the student a proper perspective to appreciate the development of the subject. The first part of the book presents the basic tools and developes procedures suitable for the design of digital circuits and small digital systems. It equips students with a firm understanding of logic principles before they study the intricacies of logic organization and architecture of computers in the second part. Besides discussing data representation, arithmetic operations, Boolean algebra and its application in designing combinatorial and sequential switching circuits, the book introduces the Algorithmic State Machines which are used to develop a hardware description language for the design of digital systems. The organization of a small hypothetical computer is described to illustrate how instruction sets are evolved. Real computers (namely, Pentium and MIPs machines) are described and compared with the hypothetical computer. After discussing the features of a CPU, I/O devices and I/O organization, cache and virtual memory, the book concludes with a new chapter on the use of parallelism to enhance the speed of computers. Besides, the fifth edition has new material in CMOS gates, MSI/ALU and Pentium5 architecture. The chapter on Cache and Virtual Memory has been rewritten.

Digital Electronics A Primer Introductory Logic Circuit Design written by Mark S Nixon and has been published by World Scientific Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-01-27 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This practical introduction explains exactly how digital circuits are designed, from the basic circuit to the advanced system. It covers combinational logic circuits, which collect logic signals, to sequential logic circuits, which embody time and memory to progress through sequences of states. The primer also highlights digital arithmetic and the integrated circuits that implement the logic functions.Based on the author's extensive experience in teaching digital electronics to undergraduates, the book translates theory directly into practice and presents the essential information in a compact, digestible style. Worked problems and examples are accompanied by abbreviated solutions, with demonstrations to ensure that the design material and the circuits' operation are fully understood. This is essential reading for any electronic or electrical engineering student new to digital electronics and requiring a succinct yet comprehensive introduction.

Digital Computer Structure and Design, Second Edition discusses switching theory, counters, sequential circuits, number representation, and arithmetic functions The book also describes computer memories, the processor, data flow system of the processor, the processor control system, and the input-output system. Switching theory, which is purely a mathematical concept, centers on the properties of interconnected networks of "gates." The theory deals with binary functions of 1 and 0 which can change instantaneously from one to the other without intermediate values. The binary number system is used in computer arithmetic and other operations due to its simplicity that can be easily adopted in device parameters. These operations involve only two levels: the "on" or "off" positions, which also offer maximum immunity to noise or circuit interference. The binary system is a very efficient way to represent numbers or to store data. When the computer uses this system, the clock cycle of the processor determines or divides the cycles for each sub-operation into steps. A master timing counter defines each of these steps, and synchronizes them avoid data loss or mix-ups. After the sub-operation has been completed, the monitor will display the result. Programmers, computer engineers, computer instructors, and students of computer science will find the book highly useful.
