In a preceding book titled 'Introduction to Marcus Theory of Electron Transfer Reactions' the reader was introduced to the Marcus Theory of Electron Transfer Reactions. There, Marcus' papers from 1956 to 1986 were considered. In the present book, oral interviews with Professor Marcus are reported on his papers published from 1987 to the present. These interviews with Marcus' notes, comments and remarks on his papers and those of his coworkers are an invaluable supplement to his articles for students and scholars in the field of electron transfer reactions.

Reaction Rate Constant Computations written by Keli Han and has been published by Royal Society of Chemistry this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014 with Science categories.

The reaction rate constant plays an essential role a wide range of processes in biology, chemistry and physics. Calculating the reaction rate constant provides considerable understanding to a reaction and this book presents the latest thinking in modern rate computational theory. The editors have more than 30 years' experience in researching the theoretical computation of chemical reaction rate constants by global dynamics and transition state theories and have brought together a global pool of expertise discussing these in a variety of contexts and across all phases. This thorough treatment of the subject provides an essential handbook to students and researchers entering the field and a comprehensive reference to established practitioners across the sciences, providing better tools to determining reaction rate constants.

The Mechanisms Of Fast Reactions In Solution written by Edward Caldin and has been published by IOS Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001 with Science categories.

Published a few years after the author's death, this volume is a sequel to his 1964 book, Fast Reactions in Solution; the material is entirely new, extending investigation beyond now well-established fast-reaction techniques to consider their contribution to understanding events on the molecular scale. After an introductory chapter on origins, methods, mechanisms, and rate constants, coverage includes the rates of diffusion-controlled reactions, mathematical theory of diffusion, flash photolysis techniques, fluorescence quenching, Marcus theory involving proton-transfer and group-transfer reactions in solutions, and electron-transfer reactions. The serious study of the reaction mechanisms of transition metal com plexes began some five decades ago. Work was initiated in the United States and Great Britain; the pioneers ofthat era were, inalphabetical order, F. Basolo, R. E. Connick, 1. O. Edwards, C. S. Garner, G. P.Haight, W. C. E. Higgision, E.1. King, R. G. Pearson, H. Taube, M.1. Tobe, and R. G. Wilkins.A larger community of research scientists then entered the field, many of them stu dents ofthose just mentioned. Interest spread elsewhere as well, principally to Asia, Canada, and Europe. Before long, the results ofindividual studies were being consolidated into models, many of which traced their origins to the better-established field of mechanistic organic chemistry. For a time this sufficed, but major revisions and new assignments of mechanism became necessary for both ligand sub stitution and oxidation-reduction reactions. Mechanistic inorganic chemistry thus took on a shape of its own. This process has brought us to the present time. Interests have expanded both to include new and more complex species (e.g., metalloproteins) and a wealth of new experimental techniques that have developed mechanisms in ever-finer detail. This is the story the author tells, and in so doing he weaves in the identities of the investigators with the story he has to tell. This makes an enjoyable as well as informative reading.
