Today s graduate music students must read and understand a variety of research methods. New disciplines for the musician, such as voice science and other methodologies, demand interdisciplinary research skills and understanding of key concepts. Cornelia Yarbrough is the Derryl and Helen Haymon Professor of Music Education at Louisiana State University. She was also on the faculty of Syracuse University (1973 1986) where she was awarded the Chancellor's Citation for Exceptional Academic Achievement. She is the recipient of the Music Educators National Conference 1996 Senior Researcher Award and the LSU 2004 Distinguished Research Master of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Award.
