The aim of the book is to provide a new and fruitful approach to the challenging problems of modern physics, astrophysics, and cosmology. The well-known observations of the flat rotation curves of spiral galaxies and of the gravitational lensing effect greatly exceeding the expectations based on the classical GRT can be explained without bringing in the notion of dark matter. The Tully-Fisher law and the unusual features of globular clusters' motion become clear. It also turns out that new features appear in the cosmological picture that involves the Universe expansion and the acceleration of the latter. The theory and the first observational results of the specific galactic scale experiment based on the optical-metrical parametric resonance are also discussed in the book. Instead of the direct measurements of the extremely small gravitational waves, it appears sufficient just to register their action on the radiation of the space masers. It can be done for special cases when the source of the gravitational wave is strictly periodic and presents a close binary system. When the amount of data obtained in such observations is large enough, it would be possible to judge upon the geometrical properties of the space-time region enveloping our galaxy, the Milky Way. The foundations of the new approach stem from the equivalence principle which is the basics of the classical GRT. In order to make the presentation self-contained, the roots of century-old ideas are discussed again. This makes the book interesting not only to the specialists in the field but also to graduates and ambitious undergraduate students.

More recently, Khovanov introduced link homology as a generalization of the Jones polynomial to homology of chain complexes and Ozsvath and Szabo developed Heegaard-Floer homology, that lifts the Alexander polynomial. These two significantly different theories are closely related and the dependencies are the object of intensive study. These ideas mark the beginning of a new era in knot theory that includes relationships with four-dimensional problems and the creation of new forms of algebraic topology relevant to knot theory. The theory of skein modules is an older development also having its roots in Jones discovery. Another significant and related development is the theory of virtual knots originated independently by Kauffman and by Goussarov Polyak and Viro in the '90s. All these topics and their relationships are the subject of the survey papers in this book.

On Complementarity A Universal Organizing Principle written by Jack Shulman Avrin and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-08-06 with Science categories.
It is not uncommon for the Principle of Complementarity to be invoked in either Science or Philosophy, viz. the ancient oriental philosophy of Yin and Yang whose symbolic representation is portrayed on the cover of the book. Or Niels Bohr's use of it as the basis for the so-called Copenhagen interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. This book arose as an outgrowth of the author's previous book entitled 'Knots, Braids and Moebius Strips,' published by World Scientific in 2015, wherein the Principle itself was discovered to be expressible as a simple 2x2 matrix that summarizes the algebraic essence of both the well-known Microbiology of DNA and the author's version of the elementary particles of physics. At that point, the possibility of an even wider utilization of that expression of Complementarity arose. The current book, features Complementarity, in which the matrix algebra is extended to characterize not only DNA itself but the well-known process of its replication, a most gratifying outcome. The book then goes on to explore Complementarity, with and without its matrix expression, as it occurs, not only in much of physics but in its extension to cosmology as well.

Volume II is the second part of the 3-volume book Mathematics of Harmony as a New Interdisciplinary Direction and 'Golden' Paradigm of Modern Science. 'Mathematics of Harmony' rises in its origin to the 'harmonic ideas' of Pythagoras, Plato and Euclid, this 3-volume book aims to promote more deep understanding of ancient conception of the 'Universe Harmony,' the main conception of ancient Greek science, and implementation of this conception to modern science and education. This 3-volume book is a result of the authors' research in the field of Fibonacci numbers and the Golden Section and their applications. It provides a broad introduction to the fascinating and beautiful subject of the 'Mathematics of Harmony,' a new interdisciplinary direction of modern science. This direction has many unexpected applications in contemporary mathematics (a new approach to a history of mathematics, the generalized Fibonacci numbers and the generalized golden proportions, the generalized Binet's formulas), theoretical physics (new hyperbolic models of Nature) and computer science (algorithmic measurement theory, number systems with irrational bases, Fibonacci computers, ternary mirror-symmetrical arithmetic). The books are intended for a wide audience including mathematics teachers of high schools, students of colleges and universities and scientists in the field of mathematics, theoretical physics and computer science. The book may be used as an advanced textbook by graduate students and even ambitious undergraduates in mathematics and computer science.

Dedicated to the memory of the late Professor Zbigniew Oziewicz from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the book consists of papers on a wide variety of topics related to the work of Professor Oziewicz, which were presented at the special conference on Graph-Operads-Logic (GOL 2021), selected through peer review to promote his scientific legacy.Professor Oziewicz was a great enthusiast and supporter of category theory and its applications in physics, as well as in various areas of mathematics (topology, noncommutative geometry, etc.). In particular, he made significant contributions to the theory of Frobenius algebras, which now are becoming more important due to their connection with topological quantum field theories that are used in mathematical physics and in quantum topology. Professor Oziewicz was a great and very generous teacher, who immersed his students in the beautiful ideas of category theory as well as mathematical physics and computation. It was his idea to start a series of conferences under the title Graphs-Operads-Logic, most of them held in Mexico, with some of them in the USA, which were a great platform to discuss various ideas connected with category theory and its various applications, and to make friends with other scientists. Despite his passing, the GOL 2021 conference is included in this series to pay tribute to his many contributions to diverse areas of science. The book is laid out in twelve main topics where we can find relevant works from distinguished experts.

This book is a Festschrift for the 90th birthday of the physicist Pierre Noyes. The book is a representative selection of papers on the topics that have been central to the meetings over the last three decades of ANPA, the Alternative Natural Philosophy Association. ANPA was founded by Pierre Noyes and his colleagues the philosopher-linguist-physicist Frederick Parker-Rhodes, the physicist Ted Bastin, and the mathematicians Clive Kilmister, John Amson. Many of the topics in the book center on the combinatorial hierarchy discovered by the originators of ANPA. Other topics explore geometrical, cosmological and biological aspects of those ideas, and foundational aspects related to discrete physics and emergent quantum mechanics. The book will be useful to readers interested in fundamental physics, and particularly to readers looking for new and important viewpoints in Science that contain the seeds of futurity.

Combinatorial Knot Theory written by Roger A Fenn and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-11-27 with Mathematics categories.
A classic knot is an embedded simple loop in 3-dimensional space. It can be described as a 4-valent planar graph or network in the horizontal plane, with the vertices or crossings corresponding to double points of a projection. At this stage we have the shadow of the knot defined by the projection. We can reconstruct the knot by lifting the crossings into two points in space, one above the other. This information is preserved at the vertices by cutting the arc which appears to go under the over crossing arc. We can then act on this diagram of the knot using the famous Reidemeister moves to mimic the motion of the knot in space. The result is classic combinatorial knot theory. In recent years, many different types of knot theories have been considered where the information stored at the crossings determines how the Reidemeister moves are used, if at all.In this book, we look at all these new theories systematically in a way which any third-year undergraduate mathematics student would understand. This book can form the basis of an undergraduate course or as an entry point for a postgraduate studying topology.

Quipu Decorated Permutation Representations Of Finite Groups written by Yongju Bae and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-06-27 with Mathematics categories.
This book studies dihedral groups, dicyclic groups, other finite subgroups of the 3-dimensional sphere, and the 2-fold extensions of the symmetric group on 4 letters from the point of view of decorated string diagrams of permutations. These are our metaphorical quipu. As you might expect, the book is replete with illustrations. In (almost) all cases, explicit diagrams for the elements of the group are given. The exception is the binary icosahedral group in which only the generators and relations are exhibited.

An Excursion In Diagrammatic Algebra written by J. Scott Carter and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with Mathematics categories.
The aim of this book is to give as detailed a description as is possible of one of the most beautiful and complicated examples in low-dimensional topology. This example is a gateway to a new idea of higher dimensional algebra in which diagrams replace algebraic expressions and relationships between diagrams represent algebraic relations. The reader may examine the changes in the illustrations in a leisurely fashion; or with scrutiny, the reader will become familiar and develop a facility for these diagrammatic computations. The text describes the essential topological ideas through metaphors that are experienced in everyday life: shadows, the human form, the intersections between walls, and the creases in a shirt or a pair of trousers. Mathematically informed reader will benefit from the informal introduction of ideas. This volume will also appeal to scientifically literate individuals who appreciate mathematical beauty.
