asakta-buddhih sarvatra . jitatma vigata-sprhah . . . . naiskarmya-siddhim paramam . sannyasenadhigacchati Detached by spiritual intelligence from everything controlling the mind, without material desires, one attains the paramount perfection in cessation of re- tions by renunciation. The Bhagvad Gita (18.49) Compared to traditional carrier-based, Ultra-Wide Band (UWB), or carrier-less, systems implement new paradigms in terms of signal generation and reception. Thus, designing an UWB communication system requires the understanding of how excess bandwidth and very low transmitted powers can be used jointly to provide a reliable radio link. UWB offers systems transceiver potential for very simple implementations. Comparison between UWB and traditional narrow-band systems highlights the following features: Large bandwidth enables very fine time-space resolution for accurate lo- tion of the UWB nodes and for distributing network time stamps. Very short pulses are effectively counter-fighting the channel effect in very dense multipath environments. Data rate (number of pulses transmitted per bit) can be traded with power emission control and distance coverage. Very low power density leads to low probability of signal detection and adds security for all the layers of the communication stack. Very low power density is obtained through radio regulation emission masks; UWB systems are suitable for coexistence with already deployed narrow-band systems.

Ultra wideband technology turns the radio spectrum available to wireless applications from a country road into a high-speed ten lane super freeway, and the destination is the future of wireless technology. UWB is a huge leap forward because it offers wide bandwidth with little interference, allowing multiple UWB signals to share a single channel. This multi-author volume, compiled under the guidance of Dr. Roberto Aiello, introduces the theory and concepts behind ultra wideband (UWB) systems as well as their applications. Authors include those involved in creating the UWB standards, researchers, and applications specialists. This book has been broken down into three parts: introduction to UWB, different techniques available, and applications. Within these sections topics covered are UWB spectrum and regulations, UWB channels, modulation techniques, antennas, signal propagation, and UWB transceiver architectures. This book has all the information RF/wireless engineers will need to understand this burgeoning technology. *An all-star list of contributors covers the subject more authoritatively than any single author could *Discusses U.S. and international ultra wideband regulations *Includes material on antenna systems and signal propagation at ultra wideband frequencies

Compact Antennas For High Data Rate Communication written by Jagannath Malik and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-08-01 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book discusses the development of promising technologies for compact antennas for high data-rate communications. It discusses and analyzes the design of compact ultra-wideband (UWB) and multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) antennas, providing essential know-how for designers, practicing engineers and scientists. These wireless communication technologies enable consumers to have convenient access to a wide range of services – anytime, anywhere. And the introduction of wireless mobile access points eliminates the limitations to communication imposed by geographical location. The Internet has allowed people to access and share information much more rapidly, but in order to achieve higher data rates with the limited available resources and imposed constraints, wireless communication technology needs to be pushed beyond the physical limits of the propagation channel. This book contributes to achieving this goal.
