This book studies translation-invariant function spaces and algebras on homogeneous manifolds. The central topic is the relationship between the homogeneous structure of a manifold and the class of translation-invariant function spaces and algebras on the manifold. The author obtains classifications of translation-invariant spaces and algebras of functions on semisimple and nilpotent Lie groups, Riemann symmetric spaces, and bounded symmetric domains. When such classifications are possible, they lead in many cases to new characterizations of the classical function spaces, from the point of view of their group of admissible changes of variable. The algebra of holomorphic functions plays an essential role in these classifications when a homogeneous complex or $CR$-structure exists on the manifold. This leads to new characterizations of holomorphic functions and their boundary values for one- and multidimensional complex domains.

An Introduction To Algebraic Geometry

An Introduction To Algebraic Geometry written by Kenji Ueno and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997 with Mathematics categories.
This introduction to algebraic geometry allows readers to grasp the fundamentals of the subject with only linear algebra and calculus as prerequisites. After a brief history of the subject, the book introduces projective spaces and projective varieties, and explains plane curves and resolution of their singularities. The volume further develops the geometry of algebraic curves and treats congruence zeta functions of algebraic curves over a finite field. It concludes with a complex analytical discussion of algebraic curves. The author emphasizes computation of concrete examples rather than proofs, and these examples are discussed from various viewpoints. This approach allows readers to develop a deeper understanding of the theorems.

This book was planned as an introduction to a vast area, where many contri butions have been made in recent years. The choice of material is based on my understanding of the role of Lie groups in complex analysis. On the one hand, they appear as the automorphism groups of certain complex spaces, e. g. , bounded domains in en or compact spaces, and are therefore important as being one of their invariants. On the other hand, complex Lie groups and, more generally, homoge neous complex manifolds, serve as a proving ground, where it is often possible to accomplish a task and get an explicit answer. One good example of this kind is the theory of homogeneous vector bundles over flag manifolds. Another example is the way the global analytic properties of homogeneous manifolds are translated into algebraic language. It is my pleasant duty to thank A. L. Onishchik, who first introduced me to the theory of Lie groups more than 25 years ago. I am greatly indebted to him and to E. B. Vinberg forthe help and advice they have given me for years. I would like to express my gratitude to M. Brion, B. GilIigan, P. Heinzner, A. Hu kleberry, and E. Oeljeklaus for valuable discussions of various subjects treated here. A part of this book was written during my stay at the Ruhr-Universitat Bochum in 1993. I thank the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft for its research support and the colleagues in Bochum for their hospitality.

Complex Analysis Harmonic Analysis And Applications written by Robert Deville and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-04-30 with Mathematics categories.
Multivariable complex analysis and harmonic analysis provide efficient techniques to study many applied mathematical problems. The main objective of a conference held in Bordeaux in June 1995, in honour of Professor Roger Gay, was to connect these mathematical fields with some of their applications. This was also the guideline for the fourteen contributions collected in this volume. Besides presenting new results, each speaker made a substantial effort in order to present an up to date survey of his field of research. All the subjects presented here are very active domains of research: integral geometry (with its relation to X-ray tomography), classical harmonic analysis and orthogonal polynomials, pluricomplex potential theory (with its deep connection with polynomial approximation), complex analytic methods in the theory of partial differentiable operators with constant coefficients (in the spirit of those initiated by Leon Ehrenpreis), Calderon-Zygmund operators and nonlinear operators, oscillatory integrals and resonance, and finally multivariable residue theory in its most recent developments. It is hoped that the reader will find enough insight in the different survey papers presented here to become involved with one of these subjects or to pursue further applications.
An Introduction To Sato S Hyperfunctions

An Introduction To Sato S Hyperfunctions written by Mitsuo Morimoto and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993-01-01 with Mathematics categories.
This book is a translation, with corrections and an updated bibliography, of Morimoto's 1976 book on the theory of hyperfunctions originally written in Japanese. Since the time that Sato established the theory of hyperfunctions, there have been many important applications to such areas as pseudodifferential operators and S-matrices. Assuming as little background as possible on the part of the reader, Morimoto covers the basic notions of the theory, from hyperfunctions of one variable to Sato's fundamental theorem. This book provides an excellent introduction to this important field of research.

Lectures On Entire Functions written by B. Ya Levin and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-07-23 with Mathematics categories.
As a brilliant university lecturer, B. Ya. Levin attracted a large audience of working mathematicians and of students from various levels and backgrounds. For approximately 40 years, his Kharkov University seminar was a school for mathematicians working in analysis and a center for active research. This monograph aims to expose the main facts of the theory of entire functions and to give their applications in real and functional analysis. The general theory starts with the fundamental results on the growth of entire functions of finite order, their factorization according to the Hadamard theorem, properties of indicator and theorems of Phragmen-Lindelof type.

Functions On Manifolds Algebraic And Topological Aspects written by Vladimir Vasilʹevich Sharko and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993 with Mathematics categories.
This monograph covers in a unified manner new results on smooth functions on manifolds. A major topic is Morse and Bott functions with a minimal number of singularities on manifolds of dimension greater than five. Sharko computes obstructions to deformation of one Morse function into another on a simply connected manifold. In addition, a method is developed for constructing minimal chain complexes and homotopical systems in the sense of Whitehead. This leads to conditions under which Morse functions on non-simply-connected manifolds exist. Sharko also describes new homotopical invariants of manifolds, which are used to substantially improve the Morse inequalities. The conditions guaranteeing the existence of minimal round Morse functions are discussed.

This book discusses character theory and its applications to finite groups. The work places the subject within the reach of people with a relatively modest mathematical background. The necessary background exceeds the standard algebra course with respect only to finite groups. Starting with basic notions and theorems in character theory, the authors present a variety of results on the properties of complex-valued characters and applications to finite groups. The main themes are degrees and kernels of irreducible characters, the class number and the number of nonlinear irreducible characters, values of irreducible characters, characterizations and generalizations of Frobenius groups, and generalizations and applications of monomial groups. The presentation is detailed, and many proofs of known results are new. Most of the results in the book are presented in monograph form for the first time. Numerous exercises offer additional information on the topics and help readers to understand the main concepts and results.
