Security and law against the backdrop of technological development.Few people doubt the importance of the security of a state, its society and its organizations, institutions and individuals, as an unconditional basis for personal and societal flourishing. Dit themawetboek werd samengesteld ter ondersteuning van de cursus ICT-recht aan de KU Leuven. Als compacte en actuele verzameling van wetteksten is het niet alleen voor de studenten een handig werkinstrument, maar voor iedereen die zich in de wetgeving rond ICT wenst te verdiepen. Het wetboek bestaat uit vijf onderdelen. Het eerste deel, met als titel Marktspelers, begint met artikel 101 t.e.m. 109 van het VWEU van 13 december 2007. Voorts bevat het de wet van 13 juni 2005 betreffende de elektronische communicatie en het decreet van 27 maart 2009 betreffende radio-omroep en televisie. Ook boek XII van het Wetboek economisch recht werd integraal opgenomen. Het tweede deel, Verbintenissen, bevat naast art. 1315 t.e.m. 1386bis van het Burgerlijk Wetboek ook de wet van 25 februari 1991 betreffende de aansprakelijkheid voor producten met gebreken en de wet van 9 juli 2001 aangaande de elektronische handtekening. Boek VI van het Wetboek economisch recht (marktpraktijken en consumentenbescherming) staat in dit deel centraal. Deel drie, Intellectuele rechten, bevat die uittreksels uit het Wetboek economisch recht met betrekking tot intellectuele eigendom die relevant zijn voor het ICT-recht, namelijk titel V t.e.m. VIII van boek XI. In het vierde deel, Privacy en gegevensverwerking, vindt men de wet van 8 december 1992 tot bescherming van de persoonlijke levenssfeer ten opzichte van de verwerking van persoonsgegevens en zijn uitvoeringsbesluit van 13 februari 2001 terug. Het vijfde en laatste deel, Cybercriminaliteit, bevat ten slotte die uittreksels uit het Strafwetboek en het Wetboek van strafvordering die rechtstreeks betrekking hebben op het ICT-recht. Ook het KB van 19 september 2013 tot uitvoering van artikel 126 van de wet van 13 juni 2005 betreffende de elektronische communicatie, werd hierin ondergebracht.
