Isis, known as the first daughter of Geb and Nut, was an Egyptian goddess. She was later adopted and worshiped throughout the ancient Greco-Roman civilization, worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the patroness of nature and magic. Isis is also known as protector of the dead and goddess of the children (reproduction).Isis is the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans and the downtrodden, but she also listens to the prayers of the wealthy, aristocrats and the rulers. Horus, the hawk-headed god of war, is often depicted as her son. The name 'Isis' means 'Throne' and her headdress is a throne. As a personification of the throne, she was an important representation of the pharaoh's power, who sat on the throne that SHE provided him. Her worship was popular throughout Egypt, but her most important temples were at Behbeit El-Hagar in the Nile delta and on the island of Philae in Upper Egypt.Isis was born on the fourth intercalary day from her father Geb who was the god of the EARTH and her mother Nut who was the goddess of the SKY. As had been the custom in ancient Egypt and other Western civilizations, she conceived Horus because of sexual intercourse with her own brother and husband Osiris. Before her marriage with Osiris, Isis had gathered his scattered body parts and used her magical skills to cause his resurrection when he was murdered by Set. It was believed that the Nile River flooded every year because of the tears of sorrow which Isis wept for Osiris. Osiris's death and rebirth was relived each year through rituals. The worship of Isis eventually spread throughout the Greco-Roman world, continuing until the suppression of paganism in the Christian era. The popular motif of Isis suckling her son Horus, however, lived on in a Christianized context as the popular image of Mary suckling the infant son Jesus from the fifth century onward. This book covers all sections of human philosophy prevailing in ancient world including astronomy, physics, chemistry, religion and origin of life and the scientific calculations. The migration of Indians to Egypt and Ethiopia is particularly evident by the style and apparels used for construction of the idols of Gods and the Goddesses in ancient Egypt, and its marked influence on ancient Roman and Greek civilizations. This book shows a new direction and opens new avenues for career and research in ancient human civilizations. Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (HP Blavatsky), born as Helena von Hahn on 31 July 1831, was a Russian occultist. In 1875, Blavatsky, Henry Steel Olcott, and William Quan Judge established a research and publishing institute called the Theosophical Society. Blavatsky defined Theosophy as "the archaic Wisdom-Religion, the esoteric doctrine once known in every ancient country having claims to civilization." One of the main purposes of the Theosophical Society was "to form a nucleus of the Universal Brotherhood of Humanity, without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or color". Blavatsky saw herself as a missionary of this ancient knowledge. Her extensive research into the spiritual traditions of the world led to the publication of what is now considered her magnum opus, The Secret Doctrine, which organizes the essence of these teachings into a comprehensive synthesis. Blavatsky's other works include Isis Unveiled, The Key to Theosophy and The Voice of the Silence. Well-known and controversial during her life, Blavatsky was no stranger to criticism. Some authors have questioned the authenticity of her writings and the validity of her claims. while others have praised them. Blavatsky is a leading name in the New Age Movement. The Theosophical Society had a major influence on Buddhist modernism and Hindu reform movements, and the spread of those modernised versions in the west. Along with Olcott and Anagarika Dharmapala, Blavatsky was instrumental in the Western transmission and revival of Theravada Buddhism. HP Blavatsky died on 8 May 1891.

Isis Unveiled is a landmark book on occult philosophy. It examines the religious aspects of the philosophical works of Plato, Plotinus, Pythagoras, Paracelsus, Giordano Bruno, and others. It also delves into the classical religious texts of Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, etc., with the aim of recognizing Hermetic philosophy as the only key to discovering "absolutes in Science and Theology." Blavatsky describes herself to her readers as a world traveler, having visited both the Americas, Siberia, Africa, India, and Tibet. During her journeys, custodians of ancient knowledge allegedly revealed many secrets of the universe to her. The trip and all of the events she encountered had been prepared for her under the guidance of the guardians, so that she could record and pass on the deep absolutes of the past.

Creating a sensation when it was first published in 1877, the first major work by the young Russian noblewoman who would found the Theosophical Society devoted 1200 pages to the mysteries of ancient and modern science and theology. This new edition abridged by Theosophical scholar Michael Gomes breathes fresh life into this classic of Western esoteric thinking. Stripped of its lengthy quotations from other writers and its repetitious commentary, Isis Unveiled is revealed to be a clear and readable exploration of the universal truths of the Ancient Wisdom Tradition by one of the most remarkable women of modern times.

DEGREESethrobacy, is the Greek name for walking or being lifted in th air; levitation, so called, among modern spiritualists. It may be eithei conscious or unconscious; in the one case, it is magic; in the other, either disease or a power which requires a few words of elucidation. A symbolical explanation of sethrobacy is given in an old Syriac manuscript which was translated in the fifteenth century by one Malchus, an alchemist. In connection with the case of Simon Magus, one passage reads thus: "Simon, laying his face upon the ground, whispered in her ear, 'O mother Earth, give me, I pray thee, some of thy breath; and I will give thee mine; let me loose, O mother, that I may carry thy words to the stars, and I will return faithfully to thee after a while.' And the Earth strengthening her status, nor->. to her detriment, sent her genius to breathe of her breath on Simon, while he breathed on her; and the stars rejoiced to be visited by the mighty One." The starting-point here is the recognized electro-chemical principle that bodies similarly electrified repel each other, while those differently rlectrified mutually attract. "The most elementary knowledge of chemistry," says Professor Cooke, "shows that, while radicals of opposite natures combine most eagerly together, two metals, or two closelyallied metalloids, show but little affinity for each other." The earth is a magnetic body; in fact, as some scientists have found, it is one vast magnet, as Paracelsus affirmed some 300 years ago. It is charged with one form of electricity--let us call it positive--which it evolves...

This complete, unabridged, all-in-one edition of Helena Blavatsky's classic work of esoteric spiritualism, history and theology also contains her original illustrations. Although named after the Egyptian goddess Isis - a figure widely associated with magic and nature - this book's scope ranges far beyond ancient Egypt. The author examines the ancient spiritual pantheons of the East, with chapters upon Buddhism and Hinduism. These ancient beliefs are strongly believed to hold much value by the author, who discusses the essential truths about the nature of reality, consciousness and the place of humanity on the Earth. At over 540,000 words, this lengthy and eclectic treatise is considered to be one of the greatest ever produced in the field of esotericism. Alluding to wisdom from cultures all around the world, Isis Unveiled is a deeply detailed book invigorated by the passion of its author to prove that truths were known by the ancients that humans remains ignorant of to the present day. The truths which Blavatsky seeks to demonstrate span a wide domain; provinces of the spiritual, scientific, occult, religious and theological are delved into for answers. With this book, Helena Blavatsky introduced what she termed the 'Wisdom-Religion' to the world; a creed in which ancient documents and knowledge are valued as the purest source of spiritual knowledge. Her own researches in the subject are vast and yielded results that are staggering for their breadth. Replete topics covered in this work include life after death, magical and psychic phenomena, sorcery, black magic, the origin of the Christian faith, and eastern figures such as Gautama Buddha. The work however has not been without its detractors; many have accused Isis Unveiled of plagiarism, noting the similarity of large tracts with writings of other occultists. The sheer length and eclecticism of the book, and subsequent changes in the ideas attached to certain ancient phenomena, led to confusion among interested followers of Blavatsky's writings: some contested that the original concepts had been contradicted. Helena Blavatsky was born to a wealthy family in Russia. Her education put her in contact with many ancient cultures and traditions, which fascinated her from an early age. Following the publication of this book she founded the Theosophical Society in New York, descendants and offshoots of which continue to research and seek after the essential truths underpinning existence to this day.

Volume Two - ScienceTHERE exists somewhere in this wide world an old Book, so very old that our modern antiquarians might ponder over its pages an indefinite time, and still not quite agree as to the nature of the fabric upon which it is written. It is the only original copy now in existence. The most ancient Hebrew document on occult learning, the Siphra Dzeniouta, was compiled from it, and that at a time when the former was already considered in the light of a literary relic. One of its illustrations represents the Divine Essence emanating from ADAM.A conviction, founded upon seventy thousand years of experience, like a luminous arc proceeding to form a circle; and then, having attained the highest point of its circumference, the ineffable Glory bends back again, and returns to earth, bringing a higher type of humanity in its vortex. As it approaches nearer and nearer to our planet, the Emanation becomes more and more shadowy, until upon touching the ground it is as black as night.A conviction, founded upon seventy thousand years of experience, as they allege, has been entertained by hermetic philosophers of all periods that matter has in time become, through sin, more gross and dense than it was at man's first formation; that, at the beginning, the human body was of a half ethereal nature; and that, before the fall, mankind communed freely with the now unseen universes. But since that time matter has become the formidable barrier between us and the world of spirits. The oldest esoteric traditions also teach that, before the mystic Adam, many races of human beings lived and died out, each giving place in its turn to another. Were these precedent types more perfect? Did any of them belong to the winged race of men mentioned by Plato in Phaedrus? It is the special province of science to solve the problem. The caves of France and the relics of the stone age afford a point at which to begin.
