A Jewish mother, grandmother, amateur sleuth, and avowed socialist, Hannah is many things to many people. Not everyone appreciates her opinions and bossy attitude, but those who can see past her sometimes-prickly exterior discover a warm and caring woman. Hannah believes you have two choices when you encounter injustice. You either ignore it, or you do something about it. And as far as Hannah’s concerned, the first option is never acceptable. She’s going to bring this creep to justice. “It all started with a cat. . .” combines serious social issues with a warm and humorous story.

It’s only natural to ask people what they think of your ideas. After all, you can’t launch, create or do something of value if you’re not interested in the opinions of your intended audience. Trouble is, the asking doesn’t always help. Learning the lessons from a lifetime of listening, Jon Cohen reveals why you can’t trust what people say and explains why their answers will often lead you astray. Drawing on an extraordinary array of entertaining and inspiring examples, Jon demonstrates how to ask better, listen harder and get closer to the truth. This book will transform your ability to understand what people think, enabling you to develop more imaginative ideas, braver public policy and compelling marketing communications. Does science prove God's existence or provide more reasons to doubt? Does God truly exist? That is the age-old seemingly unanswerable question. But what if there was an answer? What if the answer has been staring us right in the face for centuries, but we've been too busy missing the forest for the trees? This book invites you to take a step back and look at the broader picture. It offers anecdotes, observations and, most importantly, scientific evidence of the universal, all-encompassing, culture-transcending purpose that connects us all. In that purpose, we find many paths to a knowledge that has eluded humankind for as long as we have had the ability to wonder: proof that God does indeed exist. We find this knowledge in the stars, in the nature of time, in the laws of physics, in our own bodies, and in equations as complex as advanced calculus and unconditional love. It's just a matter of knowing where (and how) to look. In a centuries-old debate that has always placed science in an adversarial role with faith, this book brings the two camps together, using logic and reason to prove the existence of God. For the atheist, these pages eschew scriptural references in favor of evolutionary, philosophical, cultural, and natural evidence. For the believer, this book enhances your faith with affirmative arguments steeped in mathematics, particle physics, and a host of other scientific and real-world observations. And for anyone who has ever looked up at the sky and wondered what might lie beyond, this book provides a clear, compelling, life-affirming answer. "Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything." "" Napoleon Hill "As a secularist and humanist who doesn't share the same conclusions, I was surprised with what an enjoyable read this is. This is the strongest summary to date that I've seen for the Theist position." "" Jeremy Runnells, author of the CES Letter "Written through a Euro-centric philosophical and western science lens, one has the opportunity to consider not only the argument for and against the belief in a God, but to contemplate a middle ground where the dualities of such sit squarely within the most important part of the equation- the one who asks the question. This book is a worthwhile read, particularly for those seeking to dive more deeply into the self." "" Jonathan Webb, Dr. of Theology

I started working at the age of fourteen. It's not that I planned it that way, because working was the furthest thing from my mind. Like any child, I simply wanted to play with my friends and watch TV. However, my father insisted that I get a job so I would not become a family embarrassment. I delivered newspapers, delivered hay to the rich and snobbish and even worked at a gas station. I had approximately eight different jobs by the time I was twenty. However, I was always determined. I always worked extremely hard, because I knew no other way. I persevered while living in my car with my favorite dog while working at a hardware store for a year after I quit college. At the age of twenty, I finally found my passion while working for Disney, yet this is the first company where I learned the definition of work ethics and in some cases, the lack thereof by other employees. My career blossomed at Disney through the help of mentors, who were also great leaders. I learned to separate myself from the pack in every endeavor I chose. Work finds exemplary employees. Mediocre employees find work.

Therein, he recounts the curious and illicit and often humorously-bizarre events unfolding around him using an almost addictive conversational style, making for an engrossing and entertaining read. Emily soon learns, as does the reader, that life in a small town is not as parochial and idyllically-simple as it's often made out to be.
