En la primera parte de esta tesis se adoptó un método que parte de principios universales teóricos, abstractos y generales para llegar al singular concreto, tanto de la técnica en acto, como del objetivo alcanzado (sea éste un egresado, un conocimiento, o una obra). La epistemología adoptada en la primera parte, de raíz hegeliana, adquiere un carácter fractal que es importante destacar, puesto que tiene dos rasgos valiosos para atrapar lo real: relaciona los principios universales con los hechos y cosas singulares y lo hace mediante el particular o mediador que consigue esa difícil articulación. En esta segunda parte se adopta casi el camino inverso: parte de lo singular concreto y, por ello, multidimensional, y se remonta a determinar las causas, o teorías, que condicionaron la realización del objeto que tiene ante sí. La descripción de lo Real es un intento por atraparlo tal cual aconteció, pero es una ficción. Lo que hace es construir una realidad que aspira a ser espejo de dicho Real, aunque reconoce su imposibilidad. Siempre la realidad que se construya, tendrá una falta respecto del mundo Real, aunque su referencia sea inevitable. Estas carencias, son muchas veces llenadas por otros que describen el mismo Real y de esta manera se allegan a un mayor y más cercano conocimiento de dicho Real, pero jamás se habrá de cubrir por completo.

Este libro posee tres títulos suplementarios que no pretenden cerrarlo en unidad ni agotar su explicación. El principal, "Itinerarios", evoca un viaje por los caminos del proyecto sin marcar significados precisos ni recorridos prefijados de probada eficacia para el éxito. Convoca a crear caminos con nuevos sentidos, los invita al riesgo de ver en el viaje mismo. Así Llamaban los griegos a la teoría, viajar, volver y ver otra cosa, con otros ojos. Si el proyecto es un camino, un método, es también un medio para llegar a los objetivos, a los fines anticipados: la forma espacial significativa anhelada. El otro, imagina el libro siguiendo la lógica epistémica que, con la explicación y la comprensión, atrapara y agotara el saber de la arquitectura, pero se advertirá que finalmente es una ficción de mil puntos de vista. Por ultimo, pensar "La Investigación Proyectual" como forma de generar conocimientos en los dominios de la arquitectura es la manera de investigar utilizando el proyecto como herramienta privilegiada. Esto es saber hacer o fabricar "realidades" a partir del mundo real que se interpreta con reglas y materiales de la arquitectura, intencionados por el creador del proyecto. Esta epistemología, este saber teórico, no podrá verificarse sino en la acción concreta, en el hacer en acto. Y al hacerlo comprobara que este saber, pretendidamente sólido, se lo advierte como una ficción, una realidad construida. Se propone como una ficción epistemológica, no porque no sea verdad, sino porque es una de las muchas verdades posibles de la arquitectura y en su recorrido traicionara siempre, y antes que nada, a si misma.
