Generally, the only knowledge most people know about the life of Jesus Christ is taken from The New Testament, most specifically The Four Gospels. It is evident from comparing Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John that their writings are simply snippets of The Savior's life. Not only do they differ in what occurrences they record as well as in the accompanying details but they obviously omit the majority of His day-to-day activities.There are numerous other sources that provide us with bits of more vital information. For instance, non-Christian contemporary historians such as Tacitus, Ignatius, and Josephus as well as both Christian and non-Christian authors of the next few generations such as Tertullian, Eusebius, Pliny The Younger, Jerome, Origen, and many others offer additional insights and details concerning The Savior's journey into mortality. The same is true of the various Christian "splinter" groups of these times including The Essenes, The Gnostics, The Ebonites, The Docetists, as well as the followers of Paul and John The Baptist. Each offering additional, various, and sometimes contradictory, information. Finally, recent discoveries have yet added more perspectives and so we have "apocryphal' scripture and "pseudepigrapha" scripture from the first century A.D. through the eighth century A.D.Studying, sorting, and evaluating all this material was both rewarding and frustrating. This volume is the result of my labors.
