The daughter and granddaughter of Billy Graham share inspiring stories from their family life that offer compelling insights for leaving a legacy of faith. “An inspiring guide for living with intentionality and instilling truth in the next generation.”—Dr. Tony Evans Passing on our faith does not happen passively—it’s something we intentionally pursue with prayer and joy. Yet many of us struggle to know what it looks like to live out a contagious faith in today’s world. We long for spiritual wisdom on how to ignite faith in our children, grandchildren, and others we encounter. Jesus Followers offers practical ideas, biblical teaching, and inspiring true stories from Anne Graham Lotz and her daughter Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright for effectively running the race of faith and passing the Baton of Truth to the next generation. “FOLLOW ME.” These two words echo the heart-defining call of our Lord Jesus Christ to his disciples. Sadly, this life-changing invitation has lost much of its original meaning. Immersed in a society that worships success, we have succumbed to a trendyfixation with leadership. In I Am a Follower, author Leonard Sweet explains how Christians in a twenty-first-century corporate-obsessed culture have shifted away from a Jesus art of following toward a popularized form of leading. Through a colorful mélange of practical applications, imaginative metaphors, and probing biblical exposition based in gospel truth, Sweet reveals that the summons of Jesus and the message of the New Testament point clearly to an emphasis not on imitation but on incarnation, not on leading but on following. Join Sweet on an exciting and intentional journey from leadership cult to followership culture. Discover for yourself the way, the truth, and the abundantlife of following Jesus Christ and what it truly means to “Follow Me”! “At times I felt like I was reading Jeremiah, challenging the shepherds of Israel. This is a much needed and long overdue book.”—BOB ROBERTS, senior pastor, Northwood Church “If there was ever a leader who could convince me that it’s really never been about leading, that would have to be Len Sweet. May we all, like Len, become followers.”—MARK BATTERSON, lead pastor, National Community Church

The Gospel of Mark includes a series of similar episodes in which he presents minor characters and their response to Jesus. These individuals are neither disciples nor opponents of Jesus but rather people who are drawn, in a broad sense, from the crowd. Mark presents these characters either as suppliants or as those who exemplify a proper response to Jesus and his way. The purpose of this narrative study is to explore the effect of Mark's presentation of minor characters on the reader. It traces Mark's treatment of these individuals through the narrative and shows how Mark's presentation of minor characters moves the reader toward an acceptance of the demands of following Jesus.

Into The Fray written by Matt Mikalatos and has been published by Baker Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-07-28 with Religion categories.

In the earliest days of the Christian church, the gospel spread out from Jerusalem in a burst of incredible stories. A man who could calm a stormy sea with a word, who healed the lame and the blind, who raised the ire of the religious leaders, and who even raised people from the dead. Compare this organic, even entertaining, method of spreading the Good News to how we are often encouraged to evangelize today, with clever arguments and our defenses already up in anticipation of rebuttal. Somewhere along the way, we've lost the plot to the greatest story ever told. Now Matt Mikalatos invites us back into God's story, both to find our place in it and to rediscover the wonder that the apostles saw in their listeners as they told the story of Jesus, the Messiah they knew personally and loved fiercely. As they lose themselves in modern retellings of the events of the book of Acts, readers will find that sharing the story is easier and more rewarding than they ever imagined.

Christians want to make a difference, but sometimes the ministry bar is raised so high that only those who are "go-getters" can do it. Mission work can look like a drastic life change, unattainable to those who aren't in full-time ministry. So the average church member is left without a mission. Pastor and author M. Scott Boren shows how ordinary Christians can make a huge impact through their everyday lives. Boren teaches church members how to make a difference for God where they are. At work. With friends. In the neighborhood. Mission work doesn't need to be a life-altering event. It can be simply living a life that honors Jesus and points others to him.

Interactive Christianity written by John W. Mowat and has been published by AuthorHouse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-01-07 with Religion categories.

We are all bombarded with words and images. We are not conscious of most because our subconscious thinking filters them out. Yet too often the church relies almost exclusively on words and images to tell the most important story of all: the good news of Jesus Christ. In His book, Interactive Christianity, John W. Mowat takes us back to the methods and teachings of Jesus Christ Himself, all of which are relational, thus interactive. John examines three different areas of interaction. He believes that it is only when all 3 are healthy that larger numbers of individuals and groups of people can come to ongoing growing relationships with God. Any one of these relationships that are **missing, or out of focus,** will tend to result in either; no birth, stillbirth, or choked birth. Jesus described this in the parable of the seed and soils. John examines **first our interaction with Jesus Christ.** This interaction he believes is foundational to the other two. Many will tend to skip over this believing they have arrived, however this is a mistake. Second, John examines **our interaction with unbelievers.** Some readers want to go to this section and skip the rest. While there is very critical information in this section; readers, especial pastors and teachers need to get the whole picture. Finally, John examines the **believer’s interaction with other believers, as we relate together to each other, and to the unbelieving world around us.** This is a complicated relationship. Learning to love is the greatest ongoing challenge of the Church, yet it is critical to the difference between making decisions and making disciples.

You can also call: 1-888-344-2355 (Joel Comiskey Group). Jesus lived with His disciples for three years and taught them essential life lessons as a group. After three years, he commanded them to "go and do likewise" (Matthew 28:18-20). Jesus discipled His followers through relationships-and He wants us to do the same. We in the west, on the other hand, prepare lone-ranger disciples based on our culture of individualism. This book will detail how our culture of individualism has now turned into isolationism and that social relationships are at an all-time low. The church of Jesus Christ has also been negatively impacted through a brand of individualism that fails to truly make disciples. This book will encourage Christ-followers to allow God to mold them through the natural relationships of life: family, friends, work relationships, church, cells, etc. It will explain how God uses the relationships in our lives to mold and shape us into His disciples. The book will cover such themes as: --New Testament Community --The Problem of Isolation --Relationship with God --Relationship with those closest to you (spouse, family --Relationship with friends and work associates --Relationships through small group ministry --Relationships in the local church --Relationships with the un-churched This book will demonstrate how God uses relationships to mold and shape followers of Jesus. My hope is that God will use this book to help readers see that He is using the natural relationships in their lives to mold and shape them into followers of Jesus.
