Fred Litwin recounts how he became a JFK conspiracy freak at eighteen, and then slowly moved to believe that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin. I Was a Teenage JFK Conspiracy Freak demonstrates how the left and right have used the JFK assassination to drive home myths about power in America. There is also the persecution of a gay man prosecuted for conspiring to kill Kennedy, the ugly story of Oliver Stone's homophobic film JFK, an exposé of conspiracy nonsense on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, a look at how the Soviets tried to influence American public opinion that CIA was behind the murder, and the incredible secret why some JFK assassination documents must remain locked up. And a whole lot more. PRAISE FOR I WAS A TEENAGE JFK CONSPIRACY FREAK "As a young man growing up in the heyday of Kennedy assassination theorizing, Fred Litwin believed a conspiracy killed JFK. And then he grew, and he studied and he researched. The result is this volume, a thorough, cogent and meticulously argued case for a lone assassin. A seasoned conspiracy skeptic will learn new things here, and a conspiracy believer open to looking at the other side could do no better than this volume." - John McAdams, Associate Professor of Political Science at Marquette University and author of JFK Assassination Logic: How to Think about Claims of Conspiracy "This is a great book for conspiracy buffs-and, more important, for those who debunk such theories. Fred Litwin does a terrific job in blowing up the myriad JFK assassination scenarios, not least in completely demolishing The Fifth Estate's decades-long efforts to "uncover" the truth. The CBC's lead investigative show is revealed here to be more than slightly unhinged." -J.L. Granatstein, Author of Who Killed Canadian History? "In Fred Litwin's marvelous book, he charts how he went from an early skeptic to someone dedicated to dissecting their arguments and carefully tearing them apart. He puts the final nail in the coffin of all the conspiracy theorists, who develop new ones as old theories are proven wrong. Everyone still concerned with JFK's death and thinks it's a mystery must read this book. They will be glad they did." -Ronald Radosh, Professor Emeritus of History at CUNY, opinion columnist for The Daily Beast and co-author of A Safe Haven: Harry S. Truman and the Founding of Israel "Mr. Litwin's book is the best in many, many years in dealing with the truth about this horrendous piece of history...and exposing the fakirs, cons and opportunists who often call themselves 'historians.' A fine presentation!" -Hugh Aynesworth, Author of November 22, 1963: Witness to History and JFK: Breaking the News

Who killed JFK? Ever since that fateful day in Dallas, theories about President Kennedy's murder have proliferated, running the gamut from the official "lone gunman" verdict to both serious and utterly screwball conspiracy theories. Michael Kurtz, a distinguished historian who has plumbed every crevice of this controversial case for more than thirty years, now sums up and critiques four decades of debate, while also offering provocative new perspectives. Kurtz presents an objective accounting of what we actually know and don't know about the assassination, underlining both the logic and the limitations of the major theories about the case. He then offers unique interpretations of the physical and forensic evidence and of existing areas of controversy, leading him to new conclusions that readers will find hard to dismiss. Kurtz shows how the official investigation's egregious mishandling of the crime-scene evidence-related to virtually every aspect of the case-is largely responsible for the lone gunman/conspiracy schism that confronts us today. Those responsible for that investigation (including the Dallas police, the FBI, and the Warren Commission) failed so miserably in their efforts that they would have been laughed off the air if they had been portrayed on any of TV's popular CSI series. One of the few experts writing on the subject who actually met Oswald, Kurtz also provides new information about the accused assassin's activities around the time of the assassination and about his double life, analyzing Oswald's ties to the intelligence community, to organized crime, and to both anti- and pro-Castro Cuban activists. Mustering extraordinary documentation-including exclusive interviews with key figures and extensive materials declassified by the Assassination Records Review Board-he both confirms and alters much previous speculation about Oswald and other aspects of the case. Who really killed JFK? Forty years later, most Americans still feel they don't know the truth and that their own government isn't telling them the whole story. This book offers a corrective to even the most recent "final verdicts" and establishes a sound baseline for future research.

Sixty years after the Dallas shootings - and despite more and more documents becoming available - a multitude of myths continue to surround the most famous assassination attempt of the 20th century. With his work, the author tries to bring a little more light into the thicket of conspiracy theories and facts, especially for the layperson. The aim should be to be able to form an opinion based on undisputed facts, even without any specialist knowledge and purely on the basis of common sense.

This book is about grasping power and once achieving it, using that power to assassinate all challengers to the power gained. The Warren Commission Report concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and was not part of a conspiracy, and went on to say that there is no evidence of a conspiracy. This report pacified the American public for the last 49 years. Logic and Reason dictates otherwise. Each of us have the ability to use our own logic to determine who had the most to gain from the President John F. Kennedy assassination. However it seems unreasonable that he could do it alone and get away with it. So it doesnt pass the reason test. Therefore, logic again comes into the equation that would require a co-conspirator capable of providing a complete cover-up, so the conspirators will never be caught. The co-conspirators need only patsies to take the blame with promises of a fee or fame or whatever satisfies their weaknesses. With the Kennedy assassination completed and blamed on Lee Harvey Oswald, who is murdered before he can utter more that Im just a patsy the American population seems satisfied that he paid for his crime, while the conspirators remain free. Using the same procedure of patsies to take the rap, the logical conspirators assassinate Martin Luther King Jr. and Senator Robert Kennedy, a leading Democratic Candidate for President in 1968, and got away with it. Your use of logic and reason may lead you to the same conclusion that a conspiracy of the highest magnitude took the lives of these three idealists.

Kennedy, this investigation dives straight into the deep end, and seeks to prove the CIA’s involvement in one of the most controversial topics in American history. Featuring intelligence gathered from CIA agents who reported their involvement in the assassination, the case is broken wide open while covering unexplored ground. Gritty details about the assassination are interlaced throughout, while primary and secondary players to the murder are revealed in the in-depth analysis. Although a tremendous amount has been written in the nearly five decades since the assassination, there has never been, until now, a publication to explore the aspects of the case that seemed to defy explanation or logic.

"This is one of the most important books on the Kennedy assassination ever written1⁄4. Readers will not only understand the simplicity of the JFK assassination, but also the proper way of investigating it." -Dr. Ken Rahn, Professor of Atmospheric Chemistry Emeritus University of Rhode Island "This is an excellent book that I recommend without any hesitation. It is the only book to address the firearms and ballistic aspects of the JFK assassination in a logical, knowledgeable and scientific manner. It dispels the myths and falsehoods that have either grown up or been generated about the weapon, and the wounds. Anyone interested in the Kennedy assassination must have a copy of this book."-Dr. Vincent DiMaio, Nationally recognized JFK expert and Medical Examiner of Bexar County, Texas "A breakthrough work1⁄4the written record on this subject is begging for more authoritative work like this. The manner in which Sturdivan presents this new information is extremely effective. Besides having a wealth of scientific knowledge, he is truly a skillful writer."-John Canal, author of Silencing the Lone Assassin "The collision between the advocacy method and the scientific method of solving cases is a key factor in understanding our times. Larry Sturdivan shows how it played out in promoting doubts about one of the most notorious 20th century crimes."-William K. Hartmann, Planetary Science Institute, Tucson, and Fellow, American Association for the Advancement of Science

Thinking Critically About the Kennedy Assassination uses the tools of critical thinking, historical research, and philosophical inquiry to debunk the many myths and conspiracy theories surrounding JFK’s shocking and untimely death. As we approach the 60th anniversary of the violent public assassination of President John F. Kennedy, over half of all Americans surveyed continue to believe that he was killed by a conspiracy involving multiple assassins. Through its reasoned and detailed analysis of the content and evolution of JFK conspiracy narratives, this book also serves as a comprehensive case study of paranoid reasoning and modern mythmaking. The book’s opening chapters lay out the "official" academic consensus concerning the Kennedy assassination (better known as the "Lone Gunman Theory") and discuss the origins of popular interpretations of Kennedy’s life and death, such as the nostalgic myth of "Camelot," the unsympathetic "Irish Mafia" narrative, and the many conspiracy theories critical of both. Subsequent sections scrutinize the alleged motives of leading conspiracy suspects, the ballistic, forensic, and medical evidence related to JFK’s murder, and the most popular "proofs" of an enduring government cover- up. The book concludes that no clear evidence exists to suggest that JFK was the victim of a conspiracy and ends with a discussion of the causes and consequences of paranoid thinking in contemporary public discourse. This volume will appeal to students of history, politics, psychology, and cultural and media studies, and to a broader audience interested in American history, critical thinking, and conspiracy thinking.

Half a century after John F. Kennedy's assassination, his death remains among the most controversial events in American history. But it is not an isolated event. And it was carefully planned, and even rehearsed. A confidential story imparted by a cousin draws together disparate threads and weaves a coherent explanation. According to Frank Sturgis's family, the Bay of Pigs connects the roles of Frank Sturgis, E. Howard Hunt, the CIA (namely Allen Dulles, Richard Bissell, Tracy Barnes, and General Cabell), George Herbert Walker Bush, Richard M. Nixon, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Mafia, and the FBI.
