This book provides a different perspective on the Vietnam conflict. Journey to South Vietnam is a story of real life events, including my career in the military services—the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the United States Air Force (USAF). These compelling and life-altering experiences seemed to defy the imagination. I was also searching for my god. This book provides a different perspective on the Vietnam conflict. Journey to South Vietnam is a story of real life events, including my career in the military services--the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the United States Air Force (USAF). These compelling and life-altering experiences seemed to defy the imagination. I was also searching for my god. I volunteered for South Vietnam when the United States was in turmoil and the military was not respected by the media or the American public. I worked behind the lines at Da Nang Air Base and not in the field where the action occurred, but still, a bounty was placed on my head for $10,000. While serving in the Marine Corps, I was transferred to the Caribbean Sea, in an operation during the Dominican Republic crisis, CARIB 4-65. During that time, my friends and fellow marines were being killed on a mountain known as Monkey Mountain, or Hill 621. This hill is situated south of the Son Tra Mountain Range. It overlooks Da Nang Harbor and China Beach in the Republic of South Vietnam. Their base camp was overrun by the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) and the Vietcong (VC). After I was discharged from the marines, I felt I needed to get more involved in combat. I wanted to go back into the military to be placed into the "gauntlet of fire." It wasn't until much later that I realized I was struggling with PTSD. I joined the air force and, within a few months, volunteered for Da Nang, South Vietnam, near where a lot of my friends perished. I tried to inject a little humor in the work situation, but it was always misinterpreted. During this phase of my life, I had many close encounters, but God's presence was always there. As I look back, I now realize that God intervenes not just in my life but in all of our lives.

The dramatic novel Good Evening, Vietnam is a love story interrupted by war. During his tour of duty in Vietnam, a young U.S. chopper co-pilot falls in love with a Vietnamese girl. After his chopper is shot down, he is taken prisoner by the Vietcong. Under a POW exchange in 1973, he returns to America, leaving behind his pregnant girlfriend. After the Vietcong take over Saigon, they imprison hundreds of thousands of South Vietnamese who worked with the Americans, force others into the jungles, and denounce the children of U.S. soldiers. Most of these abandoned children were left homeless, some became gangsters, and others joined bandit gangs. Many years later, when the American pilot's mental health finally recovers from his ordeals, he travels back to Vietnam for closure. There he is robbed by a gang leader, who later looks at the wallet of the man he robbed, and finds a surprising photo. Good Evening, Vietnam is the stunning story of a reunion that was too long in coming. About the Author: Hoa Minh Truong grew up in a small village of Camau Province in South Vietnam. Now retired, he lives in Belmont, Western Australia. "I am a boat person, never to return to my homeland." After the Vietnam War ended in 1975, Truong was captured by the Vietcong. "I promised myself, if I stayed alive, I have to write the horror story inside the re-education camps." He is working on his next two books. Publisher's website: http: //SBPRA.com/HoaMinhTruong

Tom Reilly idolized his older brother, Ron. After their parents' unexpected early deaths, Ron protected his younger brother and taught him the ways of the world. Ron was a charismatic and worldly career soldier, and his kid brother thought of him as a mentor and hero. In July 1970, Ron died halfway around the world in Vietnam. When the Army provided no explanation except that Ron's death was not due to combat, the nineteen-year-old author set off on an incredible journey to war-torn South Vietnam to find answers, to seek revenge if necessary, and to come to terms with his loss. Next of Kin begins in small-town Wisconsin, where Tom's peaceful childhood is shattered by the deaths of his parents. Later, Tom makes it on his own as a runaway, has unforgettable adventures with his brother in a seedy Mexican border town, and is nearly paralyzed with grief when he learns of Ron's death. On his singular journey to Southeast Asia, Tom evades the police in Bangkok, is smuggled across the enemy-controlled Ho Chi Minh Trail into South Vietnam, fends for himself in Saigon, and survives a mortar attack and a bout with malaria all to find out the truth about his brother's death. Next of Kin is a touching story of sibling love and family tragedy that will appeal even to those without any connection to the Vietnam War.
