To tithe or not to tithe? That is the question! Is the tithe to be taught and enforced in today's Christian church? Will those who fail to regularly pay tithes really be "cursed with a curse"? While certainly not an exhaustive resource, this book strategically presents the historical, contextual and theological facts pertaining to the tithe. Dr. Allen examines the psychological burdens of this age old doctrine and empowers the reader to understand the source of such interpretations. Though full of research and study, the arguments are presented in a manner that is simple and easy to understand, allowing the reader to effectively make a sound spiritual decision for him or herself. Whether you practice tithing or not, this book is essential for your library, as it will challenge the way you view God's plan for giving under the New Covenant.

What exactly is 'tithing'? Is tithing even biblical? In The Biblical Truth About Tithing, author Timothy Klaver investigates all the passages concerning tithing and giving in order to provide solid biblical answers. Giving is supposed to be an act of worship, and yet many congregants find themselves held in bondage by their preachers. Timothy exposes this bondage and then uses Scripture to set believers free to give in the manner that God had intended for all along. When you give, do you feel satified afterward? Are you filled with joy? If giving is an act of worship, and it is, should we not feel satisfied and be filled with joy? The answer is a resounding, "Yes!" Yet many believers do not feel this. Why? It is because they have a wrong understanding of biblical giving. Giving should be joyful, but it only is when understood correctly.

This booklet sets out to quickly demonstrate the complexity of tithing and why it should not be appropriated in the church. It reaches into the ancient customs and practices, the Mosaic Law, Malachi and The New Testament. I find it alarming, that certain ministry has successfully introduced an unscriptural and summarised version into the church. The teaching of tithing finds no place in the New Covenant. I hear a familiar sound; the pump priming for collection time. Not a collection for the saints, but a collection from the saints. A spiel of the blessings one would receive as a result from paying your ministers to hear the Word of God. This commandment is called tithing. Tithing is leaving many confused and scratching for funds to avoid condemnation. I rarely notice joy at this time but rather the forced grin of obedience. The Pentecostal tithing teaching holds strong ties with the Old Covenant way of life. Materialistic gain being the proof of our favour with God. Does this hold true to New Covenant living? I am surprised that tithing is still accepted by many churches all over the world. It is regarded by many as an infallible biblical truth.

The Trojan Horse Of Tithing is a plea to Christian leaders, written from a Charismatic/Pentecostal perspective. Jonathan Brenneman exposes the inherent problems with common tithe teachings, highlighting serious issues with even so-called "grace tithing." He demonstrates how deception starts subtly and documents the growing acceptance in mainstream Christianity of even overt teachings of salvation by tithing. Millions of people today now believe they will never even enter heaven without their tithes. No matter how much we try to dress tithe teachings up as grace, they continue to be the root of serious problems. The arguments contained here against the modern tithe tradition are thorough, compelling, and overwhelming. The gospel is worth giving not only our money, but even our lives to promote. However, modern tithe traditions have no place in this because they are not based on truth and misrepresent the way God relates to people. Rather than helping to advance, the gospel, they distort it. God is calling his church to get rid of the leaven and return to a powerful and pure gospel message! The Trojan Horse of Tithing is one of the most comprehensive overviews of multiple arguments against tithing. Few books make such a compelling case as to why tithing is incompatible with the gospel, or deal so thoroughly with less logical but emotionally powerful objections such as "but tithing works!" We include: -What could have possibly convinced strong proponents of tithing such as Derek Prince to change their minds?-Documentation and evidence of the extent of literal "salvation by tithing" doctrine in today's churches, and demonstration that this is the logical implication of even many of the most common so-called "grace tithing" teachings.-Dozens of serious logical problems with all of the common pro-tithing arguments.-A historical study on Melchizedeck and the related terms "El Elyon," "Zedek," "Salem," "Heaven," and "Earth."-11 commandments of God that churches regularly break for their tithe tradition.-9 serious problems with using Malachi as support for Christian tithing.-The history of tithing.-Contrast between the Babylonian tithe and the Jewish tithe. Which is our modern tithe tradition based on?-How the modern tithe tradition violates the statutes and the basic principles of the Jewish tithe.-What tithing and witchcraft have in common.-How tithing undermines Spirit-led giving.-How people are stepping into supernatural giving and supernatural provision without the tithe.-The historical and cultural context of ministerial support in scripture.-Why some of the world's most successful church planters see tithing as a hindrance to church multiplication.-How tithe teachings promote a poverty spirit.-A prophetic dream for the church.

The way tithing is practiced today in most Christian churches is not found anywhere in the Bible? It's a fact! The teaching that God requires Christians to give ten percent of their income based on Malachi 3:10 is categorically false. The Tithe Lie provides scriptural information demonstrating that there is nor ever was a command or a law from God, either in the Old or New Testament, that required Christians to give ten percent of their income. This book is not written to condemn financial support for ministry. To the contrary, Christians should give joyfully and regularly to the degree that they can. But they should not be forced, threatened, coerced or manipulated into giving. Thus, this book is written to free Christians from false teachings surrounding the issue of tithing and reinstate the joy of giving. After all, God loves a cheerful giver (II Cor. 9:7).
