Am 20. Juni 1998, wenige Monate vor der Bundestagswahl, durch die Helmut Kohl als Kanzler der Bundesrepublik Deutschland nach 16 Amtsjahren von Gerhard Schröder abgelöst werden sollte, veröffentlichte Jan Ulrich Hasecke den ersten Text in seinem Online-Magazin ›juh's Sudelbuch‹. 16 Jahre und 630 Texte später zieht der Autor im Vorwort dieser Buchausgabe ein resigniertes Resümee: »Mit Satire und Ironie ist der Welt nicht beizukomen, weder im Jahr 1998 noch im Jahr 2014. Doch es waren die einzigen Waffen, die mir zu Gebote standen.« Wie sein großes Vorbild Georg Christoph Lichtenberg bearbeitet Hasecke in Glossen und Essays das Zeitgeschehen so lange mit dem satirischen Seziermesser, bis die drei Grazien Dummheit, Bosheit und Verblendung in ihrer ganzen Schönheit zum Vorschein kommen. Das Sudelbuch ist ein Spiegel unserer Zeit. Es hat sich in den 16 Jahren seines Bestehens wie unsere Welt gewandelt und verändert, ohne dabei ebenso oberflächlich und aufgeregt zu werden. Der Herausgeber des politischen Kulturmagazins ›Die Gazette‹, Fritz R.
