Socioecological Transformations confronts dominant framings of transformation that either remain apolitical and ahistorical, or overemphasizes the structural causes, while bypassing the ontological roots of the present-day socioecological violence and destruction. It challenges the technocratic and structuralist tendencies that either reduce transformation to policy tweaks, or to social movements and activism. This volume reclaims socioecological transformations as a radical, justice-centred theory-praxis. By connecting the structural and the ontological roots of the colonial-racial-capitalist system of oppression, the book exposes how materialist-dualist ontology and associated worldviews uphold hierarchies of worth, which in turn serve and uphold the colonial-racial-capitalist system of oppression. In doing so, it widens the spectrum of viable responses to include in addition to social movements and activism, those that unsettle the ontological bases of our socioecological calamities—the human exceptionalism and the illusion of separation. The fifteen chapters span diverse geographies, struggles, and approaches, weaving together onto-epistemic inquiry with grounded transformative practices, movements and action. The contributions share the common focus on justice as both motivation and a guiding principle for transformations. The book calls for transformation where being, knowing, and doing are reimagined in relational, life-affirming terms. A vital resource for students, academics, activists inspired by political ecology, feminist studies, decolonial and relational approaches, social movements, and transformations, but also practitioners and policy actors seeking to engage transformation beyond surface-level solutions. This book deals with one of the key problems in applied mathematics, namely the investigation into and providing for solution stability in solving equations with due allowance for inaccuracies in set initial data, parameters and coefficients of a mathematical model for an object under study, instrumental function, initial conditions, etc., and also with allowance for miscalculations, including roundoff errors. Until recently, all problems in mathematics, physics and engineering were divided into two classes: well-posed problems and ill-posed problems. The authors introduce a third class of problems: intermediate ones, which are problems that change their property of being well- or ill-posed on equivalent transformations of governing equations, and also problems that display the property of being either well- or ill-posed depending on the type of the functional space used. The book is divided into two parts: Part one deals with general properties of all three classes of mathematical, physical and engineering problems with approaches to solve them; Part two deals with several stable models for solving inverse ill-posed problems, illustrated with numerical examples.

Giving a new translation and interpretation of the basic works of Vasubandhu the yogacarin, the author shows that Yogacara metaphysics is basically the same as that of the early Buddhism. He contends that the Yogacara writings are open to interpretation in terms of realistic pluralism, and thus challenges their traditional interpretation in terms of idealistic monism. His translation is faithful to the original, arguments convincing and consistent, and presentation clear and readable. The texts translated and interpreted are (i) Madhyanta-vibhago-karika-bhasya, (ii) Trisvabhava-nirdesa, (iii) Trimsatika and (iv) Vimsatika. The doctrine of experience presented by these texts may be summarised in the words of the author as follow: The experience of samsara consists basically in one's being forced to view oneself as the grasper (grahaka), the enjoyer (bhoktr), knower (jnatr) of all beings, which are then viewed as the graspable (grahya), the enjoyable (bhojya), the knowable (jneya).
