TWO FOSTER SIBLINGS, A SOCIETY OF IMMORTAL CREATURES, AND AN ABILITY THAT TERRIFIES EVERYONE. :: This is me - Lasca Grimshaw, spotlight-shy photographer - shamelessly hiding in the shadows outside my first solo art show, whispering with a handsome stranger about shooting wild horses. Life just doesn't get any better than this! He's witty and sexy and, hey I'll be honest, it's been ages since I've let that particular combination take me home for a night. But then I touch his hand and...! :: Here I am, in the middle of the effing Canadian wilderness, in the middle of effing winter, running for my life. An easy recon assignment, I'd assumed. Yeah, well, you know what they say about those schmucks who assume. And I guess I'd know: Hello, my name is Chez, the Super Schmuck. My enemies are closing in. It's do or die. Literally. I take my chance. It's just dumb luck that my hands are bare and I find a patch of skin on the guy and...! :: CHEMISTRY EXISTS. ONLY, IT ISN'T HARMLESSLY THRILLING. IT DEVASTATES.

My Guiding Light is an inspirational, nonfiction memoir that provides an overview of how an ambitious yet soft-spoken, insecure, and even troublesome suburban chick discovered the concealed light inside her soul. This woman believes there's always a radiant light glowing at the end of a long, dark tunnel. After all these years, she's finally grasped the concept that dark and light circumstances in her life cannot coexist. Can they? Well, this is the major theme of her testimony here for you, friends. She believes there are two sides to every person--two distinct personalities yet to be exposed that are often left unresolved or misunderstood. This is not an intention to lecture or preach at any person or to force any crazy religious doctrine into your psyche. Rather, it's an inspirational summary of one young woman's life experiences and how Christ is now the positive motivating force within her life today, inspiring others to do the same. Despite her conservative, wholesome, often sheltered, and awkward childhood, she later experienced a drama-filled and often unfair adolescence, then on to an uncertain, exhilarating, and awkward young adulthood. This woman had her deepest doubts about herself, her life, and, most relevantly, her faith in Christ, derived at first from her shaken walk with God despite her genuine and easygoing demeanor. There was a time in her midtwenties when she almost slipped so far into the darker side of life that she might have been headed for a mental breakdown. Then, one random night, she had a fascinating dream where, in her unique knowledge, she saw a miraculous sign from God consisting of large birds and a radiant light--her "true light." Through that supernatural experience, she now knew of her genuine hope and purpose for living: Christ, who was showing her a way out of the darkness into eternal hope. Now she knows she has a destiny, regardless of the indifference and controversy constantly plaguing her reality, including her insecurities and self-doubt. After a few years, despite her promising future ahead, comes an underlying question that still seems to haunt her today: Is her newfound admiration from social media friends and the "good" life on her terms today the key to true fulfillment, especially when the darker side of her persona (from her past) still seems to come back to haunt her daily, or is real fulfillment found only in her newfound faith in the Lord Jesus? Furthermore, she must now decide in her mind to either forgive, forget, kick the dark side to the curb, and finally move on to restore her newfound faith and her radiant future or continue to dance with the demons of her past that still haunt her and continue to receive the outward, societal attention she has so long craved before. Despite her efforts, the ongoing, conflicting question remains: Will it ever be understood or make sense? Can the light and dark sides of someone's soul coexist with each other? Will the conflicting questions inside her soul--those of who she is and who she's supposed to be--ever be resolved? Well, hopefully, only a short amount of quality and well-spent time reading her testimony will reveal the true answers. Friends, this is an overall inspirational query based on factual life events about how a young woman can use her life circumstances to inspire the younger and older generations to never give up on their life, hope, purpose, and their true guiding light.

Brucye written by Fredric L. Frye and has been published by Page Publishing Inc this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-05-04 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

A compassionate, candid, and often humorous, biographical (and partially autobiographical) narrative/memoir of a six-decade long productive marriage of a remarkable woman and her distinguished veterinarian and professor husband, and how Alzheimer's disease, and its physical and psychological manifestations gradually, yet progressively, affected the couple's last four years, and especially, the author's supportive editor-teammate spouse, as the disease steadily eroded her personality and day-to-day ability to function. The account begins with Brucye's early years and gradually extends through how the couple first met on a "blind" date that was "engineered" by one of their mothers' mutual friend; through their courtship, early marriage, the birth and early development of their two children, the husband's (author's) professional veterinary school curriculum experiences leading to an earned doctorate and, later, his graduate school training, surgical residency, and a second residency earned him a degree in comparative pathology. Later, his career and some notable experiences in private exotic (nondomestic animal) veterinary practice and their life together, as they traveled widely as he served as a popular visiting clinical professor of comparative medicine and pathobiology at numerous North American, European, and Asian colleges and universities. This story is further leavened by relating details of numerous innovative and outrageously humorous "theme" parties and other events during nearly thirty years of the couple's summer recreational boating in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, their planning and collaboration during the establishment of their organic farm and home located in Northern California's Mendocino County, and the wife's eventual development of dementia-which created many challenges. In the latter parts of the book, the author provides a lengthy and useful guide for others contemplating service or who are already serving as a caregiver for a loved one, including numerous specific suggestions and sources for items and services that he found of benefit to all parties while he was involved in being the designated caregiver for his much-loved spouse and best friend. The essentiality of gaining temporary respite from the responsibility as a caregiver is also discussed, as are some external pitfalls that are common to this situation.

In just thirty days, you can get children to behave the way you want them to. Whether their misbehavior is as minor as letting the dishes pile up and the trash overflow or as traumatic as a drug habit and stealing, Back in Control will enable you to set and enforce rules that your kids will obey. Back in Control is based on a highly successful program that has helped thousands of parents regain control over their children. Without compromising your values away or kicking the kids out of the house, it offers you the simplest, most effective method of childhood discipline to date. It presents a three-step formula that is perfect for virtually any adult wanting to control children's misbehavior. Instead of getting caught up in children's arguments and manipulations, Back in Control shows parents how to reestablish their rightful place as bosses of the family. Teachers are able to devote more time to teaching than to disciplining students. Probation officers and social workers working with parents, in addition to managing their caseloads more effectively, are able to permanently stop children from abusing drugs or alcohol, stealing, running away from home, and being truant. Children themselves learn that there are some rules they must obey, whether they want to or not, and they will grow up believing that they can succeed in doing what is required of them. Power belongs to those who use it. And if you don't, your children will. If your children's problem behavior is out of hand, it's time you got Back in Control.

With all the choices available to today's women, why don't they more feel fulfilled? What Women Want Next is Susan Maushart's meditation-by turns profound and laugh-out-loud funny-on that central dilemma of postfeminist life. At one point she had it all, so why wasn't she happy? With What Women Want Next, Maushart combines research with personal history in a dynamic attempt to answer this question. Feminism may have led women to life's banquet table, but the meal they make of it is up to them. How to balance life and work, sex and sleep, child care and self-care? And why has women's guilt-that glass ceiling of the soul-become the biggest barrier they face? What Women Want Next is the first book to look at the spectrum of a woman's life and attempt to demonstrate how she can shape her own destiny throughout all its stages.
