This 7th volume of SIMP is dedicated to two large themes that were discussed in the last Study Group Symposium held online and arranged by the Music Faculty of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo, Sri Lanka, in March 2021: ``Re-invention and Sustainability of Musical Instruments'' and ``Instrumental Music and Food''. Thirteen contributions were compiled in this volume relating to the first theme, while seven contributions were chosen to represent the second. The first part of the contributions illustrates that musical instruments have a long and regionally intertwined history. Often it is hard to say who invented a specific type first as well as to answer if musical instruments were used symbolically or supported in any way supported regional cultural aspects, or what feature of musical instruments had the strongest impact on local developments. The last seven contributions deal with various phenomena such as banquet music, ritual music and food offerings, instrumental ambience music, and festivals.

Thorium menjadi sumber energi hijau (green energy) yang banyak terdapat di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung sebagai mineral ikutan tambang timah. Ingat, tambang timah di bumi Bangka Belitung telah berlangsung selama tiga abad lamanya (sejak zaman penjajahan Belanda). Kini di Bangka akan dibangun Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Thorium (PLTT) pertama di dunia. Bahkan produsen mobil Cadillac Amerika Serikat berhasil membuat konsep mobil bertenaga thorium. Hasilnya 8 gram thorium bisa menjalankan mobil itu selama 100 tahun (seabad) tanpa perlu pengisian bahan energi (tak perlu charger). Norwigia, malah berhasil memproduksi kapal laut bertenaga thorium. Bahkan PT PAL (Persero) telah menjajaki untuk memproduksi kapal laut bertenaga thorium. PLTT diprediksi mampu memproduksi listrik USD 3 sen/kWh. Sehingga PLTT mampu menjual listrik ke PLN hanya USD 6 sen/kWh, dan PLN bisa menjual listrik ke konsumen di bawah USD 9 sen/kWh bukan diatas USD 11 sen/kWh seperti sekarang ini. Tak hanya itu, Revolusi Thorium Babel akan mengubah habit dan peradaban manusia di planet bumi. Bayangkan kelak suatu hari nanti, thorium bisa dipakai untuk baterai handphone, laptop, tablet, motor, mobil, dan lainnya, tanpa perlu dicas seperti selama ini. Jika Revolusi Thorium Babel benar terjadi, maka peradaban umat manusia akan berubah kepada kehidupan dan menciptakan peradaban baru. Mungkin saja ini yang dikenal dengan istilah The New World Order yang ramai dibicarakan oleh kalangan intelektual negara Barat. Tetapi semua ini masih membutuh riset mendalam butuh waktu biaya yang tidak sedikit. Buku ini bukan hasil riset, tetapi semata hasil kumpulan artikel saya yang pernah di muat pada Harian Babel Pos, Bangka Pos, tabloid Laskar Pelangi, dan beberapa media online. Tak secara spesifik membahas thorium saja, tetapi lebih luas dari terutama bagaimana Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel) memanfaatkan mineral ikutan timah yang selama ini terabaikan. Seperti mineral tanah jarang (rare aerth mineral). Thorium adalah salah satunya. Sebentar lagi, PLTT di Bangka akan beroperasi, kini dalam proses perizinan. PLTT akan dibangun oleh perusahaan Amerika Serikat ThorCon International PTE. Apabila nanti listrik Bsbel berlebih, PLN akan menyalurkannya melalui kabal bawah laut dari Bangka ke Sumatera. Kabal bawah itu sudah selesai dan sudah beroperasi. Semoga saja PLTT Babel ini segera memulai pembangunannya yang tahap pertama akan menelan biaya Rp 17 triliun non APBD dan non APBN. Kita berharap, Revolusi Thorium Babel akan mengubah peta dunia energi Indonesia secara keseluruhan yang secara otomatis akan mengubah tatanan perekonomian Indonesia. Karena tidak lagi sumber energi paling murah dan ramah lingkungan yang bisa digunakan dalam jangka waktu ratusan tahun yang akan datang. Selamat membaca,
