Zizek And Law written by Laurent de Sutter and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-03-05 with Law categories.

The very first book dedicated to Slavoj Zizek’s theoretical treatment of law, this book gathers widely recognized Zizek scholars as well as legal theorists to offer a sustained analysis of the place of law in Zizek’s work. Whether it is with reference to symbolic law, psychoanalytical law, religious law, positive law, human rights, to Lacan’s, Hegel’s, or Kant’s philosophies of law, or even to Jewish or Buddhist law, Zizek returns again and again to law. And what his work offers, this volume demonstrates, is a radically new approach to law, and a rethinking of its role within the framework of radical politics. With the help of Zizek himself – who here, and for the first time, directly engages with the topic of law – this collection provides an authoritative account of ‘Zizek and law’. It will be invaluable resource for researchers and students in the fields of law, legal theory, legal philosophy, political theory, psychoanalysis, theology, and cultural studies.

Architecture’s role is becoming increasingly limited to serving the all-pervasive system of globalised capitalism and becoming a constituent, complicit part of its mechanism. The Resistant Object of Architecture addresses this problem, and does so in a way that represents a marked departure from predominant responses which, as the book shows, do not address the core issue. The book addresses this problem by focusing on the question "what is architecture?," and responds to this question by developing the immanent structural logic of architecture that enables it to work not only as an instrumental thinking practice, but as a practice of creative thinking. This means that it alone determines its issues, problems, and priorities, and precisely because of that it has the capacity and cogency to destabilise, indeed pierce holes in the system in which it operates. The Resistant Object of Architecture draws on various theoretical sources, from the psychoanalysis of Jacques Lacan and the philosophy of Alain Badiou, to contemporary architectural theory. In contrast to the predominant view of today, it demonstrates that architecture has an affirmative, transformative capacity. This book is an ideal read for those interested in architectural theory and history, analysis of contemporary architecture, and philosophy of architecture.

Ontology And Perversion written by Boštjan Nedoh and has been published by Rowman & Littlefield this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-06-04 with Philosophy categories.

This book examines the philosophical and political relevance of perversion in the works of three key representatives of contemporary philosophy and psychoanalysis: Gilles Deleuze, Giorgio Agamben and Jacques Lacan. Perversion is often understood simply in terms of cultural or sexual phenomena. By contrast, Boštjan Nedoh places perversion at the heart of philosophical, ontological and political issues in the works of Deleuze, Agamben and Lacan. He examines the relevance of their discussions of perversion for their respective critical ontological projects. By tracing the differences between these thinkers’ understanding of perversion, the book finally draws lines of delimitation between the vitalist and the structuralist or psychoanalytic philosophical positions in contemporary philosophy.

Monografijo zaključuje razprava o specifikah filozofskega načina branja umetniških del in njihove politične razsežnosti. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The monograph ('Monadless Windows. Aesthetics from Heidegger to Rancière') follows the development of aesthetics in key thinkers of 20th century philosophy, such as M. Heidegger, T. W. Adorno, and G. Deleuze. It argues that the central trait of this development is the encounter with an artwork in which a philosopher identifies thought. The artwork thinks and therefore it bears implications for the philosophical understanding of being and the world. But in order for philosophy to be able to grasp the thought of art it has to renounce the classical notion of representation. Art does not represent the world; it expresses being, which remains hidden in the representational constitution of the world. In the first part of the book, contemporary approaches such as A. Badiou’s ontology and J. Rancière’s aesthetics form the ground for a critical assessment of the aesthetical heritage of the 20th century and for rethinking the notion of representation beyond the alternative between imitation and expression of being. The second part explores the notion of the world in contemporary philosophy through readings of Leibniz’s multitude of possible worlds, on the one hand, and the fictional worlds of modernist literature (S. Mallarmé, M. Proust), on the other. The third and final part addresses different ways in which philosophy reads specific artworks and how it identifies their political dimension.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ One of the questions that architecture currently faces asks whether architecture can still maintain a position of resistance against the regime of globalised capitalism that dominates the world today. Or is the only position that remains open to it to work as a constituent part of this regime and its mechanism? The starting point of the book ('Neither utilitarian noraesthetic object. A structural logic of architecture') is that architecture always already overcomes this dilemma. It is a practice, that by virtue of its inner structure, works such that it is not a constituent part of the mechanism of the given world, and nor does it work in such a way as to resist this mechanism. Rather, it is a practice that is founded on itself, and thus has the potential to be and work in the world irrespective of the world and its demands. Architecture, which effectuates this innate potential, is architecture as a creative practice. The book outlines such practice of architecture. It develops four concepts and with them it elaborates the fundamental structural logic of architecture. This is the logic according to which architecture itself is built; and it is the logic that determines the way in which architecture appears and works “outside itself". Both meanings are inseparably connected: because architecture is built in a special way, because it is a practice that is founded on itself, it works in the way that it breaches the world from within. One of the fundamental theses of this book, therefore, asserts that precisely in architecture's self-supporting makeup lies its power to break – and break with – the frameworks of the given world.

Tektonika V Arhitekturi written by Kenneth Frampton and has been published by Založba ZRC this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-09-02 with Architecture categories.

To veščino opredeljujejo s terminom tektonika. V knjigi so objavljeni odlomki iz njunih študij: predgovor in del uvoda v Bötticherjevo temeljno deloTektonika Grkov in V. poglavje slavne Semperjeve študije Štirje elementi arhitekture. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The three texts collected in this book ('Tectonics in Architecture') maintain the common view of architecture as craft, in the ancient Greek sense ofpoiesis, as an act of making, the making of material objects. This craft is assigned the term tectonics. The central text of the book is the essay written by the architectural theoretician Kenneth Frampton, in which he responds to the burning problem of architecture: the closing of the possibilities for architecture to work as a creative, thinking practice. His thesis maintains that in order to resist this process of turning architecture into but a giant commodity, an insistence on a specifically architectural way of making of objects is necessary. And according to Frampton, this specific architectural way of making is what we would call construction, that is, tectonic construction. In order to preserve architecture, a return to tectonics is needed. And a return to tectonics is an emphasis on the material base or ground of architecture. In developing this thesis Frampton follows the work of two German architects of the 19th century, Karl Bötticher and Gottfried Semper, who first elaborated the term tectonic in the modern sense. This book includes parts of their respective studies: the preface and part of the introduction of Bötticher's seminal work The Tectonic of the Hellenes, and the fifth chapter of the Semper's celebrated work The Four Elements of Architecture.
